and it burns burns burns, the ring of fire
Who: Axel and anyone on Bloodsport and Tourist
Broadcast: Seemingly anonymous text to everyone on Bloodsport
Action: Anyone on Tourist
When: Tuesday, 30December, late morning
Broadcast
[Axel had spent a little time toying with the computers in Castle Oblivion, but the communications augment this place gave him is coming in really handy now. He spent about fifteen minutes messing with functions and filters and poked through the rosters to figure out which ship Riku was on--he never should have said Axel wouldn't be able to bug him from a whole other ship, because so help him, he's going to bug the crap out of him now. He was going to send a slew of annoying text messages to just Riku, but it'd be more fun to be obnoxious at his entire crew, right? Setting the filter for anyone onboard the Bloodsport, Axel decides that he might as well be educational while he's being insufferable. All texts appear to come from an anonymous source.]
Fire Facts! Everything you ever wanted to know about fire and never thought to ask! A candle flame burns at approximately 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, or 1000 degrees Celsius.
Action for anyone onboard the Tourist
[Axel is in the dining area, his feet propped up and a big sly grin on his face as he sends messages from his communicator. There's a plate of barely-touched (questionable) food nearby--he's really not sure about this protein gel stuff. Feel free to give him some pointers on how to make it more palatable. Or maybe ask what's so amusing, if you dare...]

So are you a professional or an enthusiast?
no subject
Can't I be both? You might say what started out as a professional skill became a personal hobby as well.
Here's a fun one: soaking a cottonball in superglue can make it spontaneously combust.
no subject
Not a bad thing to enjoy your vocation, I guess.
Nice, I've got to try that. Though, I'm sure you know you can use the end of a 9V battery to set steel wool on fire.
no subject
I have actually done that! Though it was less with a battery and more with a girl who could shoot lightning from her hands. And it was less setting the steel wool on fire on purpose and more she really hated it when it was her turn to do the dishes.
Did you know lightning can turn sand into glass?
no subject
I did know that. Did you know that these engines can be set to self-destruct?
no subject
Self-destruct? Oh my, that sounds like a riotously great prank in the making. How did you figure that one out, cap'n?

I'm the ship engineer. I know lots of things.

That depends on your demographic. I would consider myself a purveyor of services both mundane and specialized. The procurement of information is my forté, but I've been known to branch out.

[all he really wanted was a trackable ID, even if it's only going to point him towards a ship terminal--he can do a little research and have this guy singled out in no time. but hey, maybe he won't even need that! it sounds like they're getting friendly.]
And you've already proven yourself a confident comms-man. Or woman. I shouldn't assume.

Man, for the record. The name's Axel, got it memorized? Yeah, these communicators actually do a few pretty nice tricks, if you know what buttons to push. [They're rather like people, that way.] You're the captain over there, aren't you? I did a little reading up on the roster before I decided to regale you and your crew with factoids.
no subject
You got me. No one else on this ship has my distinct, charming enthusiasm, I know.
Nice to meet you, Axel. How do you feel about a favor owed? Nothing huge; I don't like to outsource my big jobs anyway.
no subject
I suppose I can work with that, if you're all right with an IOU. I assure you I always keep my promises~
