Who: Hermione Granger and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva, baby
When: From now until shuffle!
[ When she wakes up, the first thing that's obvious to her is that this is not her house; it's nothing like it, and that's more than enough to have her drop her hands to her hip - where, again, there's nothing familiar. The next stop is around her neck and it's obvious that she finds some comfort there, her fingers sliding around a ring before she breathes out and moves to sit up. At least some things are familiar, and she recognises a video feed when she sees it, lifting her free hand to push her hair out of her eyes. ]
Well, this isn't the Drabwurld, is it.
[ She sounds remarkably put out about it, shifting to stand and adjust her weight, her fingers finally dropping away from the ring around her neck. It's only then that she really looks into her feed, wondering if it worked just like the lockets did - and, at the same time, wondering if she ought to be afraid. Considering the number of worlds and things she saw and went through in the Drabwurld, however, she thinks that it'll take a little more than this to put her on edge, even without her weapons. ]
I don't suppose anyone here has heard of Nimh Gleanne? Leathann? ... Anything like that?
[ There's a kind of awkward hopefulness in her voice as she tries to smile, the scar on her cheek shifting with her lips. ]
Anyone?

Anyone?

video;
Sorry, no, but-- people come in waves, and simply because they're not here now doesn't mean they won't be here later. I'm Remus Lupin-- it's nice to meet you.
video;
The last time she saw him she had sent him home to his son. Now... Now he's young, maybe even younger than she is, and it hurts. ]
It's nice to meet you too, Remus. [ She tries her best to smile. ] I'm Hermione Granger. Thank you, for telling me.
video;
[His eyes dart up to her hand, to the scars on her face. Oh, yes, he knows those scars. He knows them very well-- and his hand comes to his neck, rubbing at one of his own idly.]
There are . . . several supernatural creatures here. I don't know if you have any familiarity with those, I don't know what your home is like, but-- for example, I'm a werewolf.
[Hard to say. Harder than it ought to be-- but perhaps she is as well. And if he were new here, he'd certainly want to know about other werewolves.]
video;
She can say nothing and hold that secret deep, deep down inside of her. ]
I've met a werewolf before. He - he was one of my best friends, actually. Like family to me, more than anything else. I don't think I'd be here without him. [ She softens, smiling gently at him. She's not one herself, but she thinks she's more like Bill and Remus than people might want to admit when they see her. She's never really been through a full moon properly, though. ] Besides, I'm a witch. I think I'm supernatural enough to fit in just right.

video;
You're from our world.
[Not a question.]
Do you know me?
[After all, he's from James' future. It's not inconceivable that this girl is from his future (and again, he thinks about the scars on her cheek).]
video;
Why is this always so hard? ]
I do. Know you. Quite well, actually. Remember the best friend, the one that was a werewolf?
[ She smiles at him, softening a little. ]
You were quite a bit older, but... You were still him.
video;
His smile fades after a moment, though, and he brushes his hand against his cheek.]
Did I--?
video;
[ She reaches up and touches the scars - and she softens, shaking her head. She has no reason at all to even imagine telling Remus the truth and she holds herself steady, filling herself with all the confidence that came from being a Marchioness, from being a leader. ]
No, no. You saved me, you would never hurt me.
[ Which is true. Remus - the one she had known - had saved her life more times than she could count. He was family, her rock, someone she loved more than she could ever put into words, and she would never put anything of that on this Remus' shoulders. It wouldn't be fair and she knows it. ]
I was in charge of your potion, though, and I did learn a few tricks to help with the transformations.
video;
Some of that relief must show on his face, though he tries to hide it.]
I've found this place calms me a fair bit-- I've more control over my changes than I once did. What potion do you mean?
video;
Of course, the realisation hits her and she leans forward, eyes wide. ]
Oh! Oh, Wolfsbane wasn't invented until the 1970s, you wouldn't know! It's a potion, a complex one, admittedly, but it helps with the transformation and what happens to werewolves on the full moon. It softens the effects of lycanthropy and prevents a werewolf from losing their minds after they turn.
video;
You know how to brew it? Can you teach me?
video;
[ Not that Remus had ever really enjoyed the brewing part, but - ]
I can teach you the spell, too, if you'd like.
video;
video;
video;
Thank you. I mean, I suppose I-- it was another world, but-- still. That's very kind of you. If you-- you know-- want to come by this month--
video;
[ Family. ]
video;
What is it? I'm sure Moony is glad for the company-- he's quite put out that Padfoot isn't here, honestly.
video;
Just a second, let me -
[ Reaching out, she shifts and breathes out, adjusting her stance and closing her eyes. Then, after a moment, she shifts and transforms into a lioness - a brilliant white lioness, with a pair of wings that curl around her more like a griffin than anything else. She stays that way for a handful of moments, letting Remus see before she turns back, breathing out. ]
There.
video;
[He murmurs it fervently.]
That's brilliant-- a griffin, then? How long have you been able to do it?
video;
[ Either way, that's what she was; Lioness Courant, literally and metaphorically. ]
It's been just over a year and a bit, I think. I lost track of time, really.
video;
video;
[ She hesitates, glancing away for a moment, throat tight. Sometimes she has no control and someone ends up dead. One time, but a haunting one. ]
I can think like myself, but it's hard to communicate with other people. It was easier with my friend - he was a telepath and we could sort-of speak.
