[Kanan is sitting at the Málum on the Iskaulit, having himself a quiet drink as he contemplates the so-called Space Bar he passed getting to this particular alternate establishment. Neither one were quite like the cantina he used to work in back on Gorse and neither one of them had quite the crowds either. There was always a few here and there, but it would be a real stretch to ever call them packed. Which is what prompts him to take the time to look at the ship rosters.]

I've been looking at the ship rosters today. It looks like all of the ships in this fleet are at max capacity. Is that normal?

[It's not because he was trying to figure out a way to get himself and Hera on the same ship! It was just... professional curiosity. That's all.]

Did they ever say what exactly was wrong in the first place?

No. Only that they were doin' something called calibrations. Near as we could figure it was somethin' with our augments. We started seeing and doing weird things around the ship. Something in the panels... I don't remember much, and I doubt anyone else does. They must have wiped it on purpose.

[He brushes his hand over the back of his neck, briefly touching a finger on his own augment.]

I hadn't heard about them doing anything with these. So they're more than just instruction manuals.

They can alter perception, definitely. While we were on the Marsiva, we were seeing all kinds of weird, unexplainable things.

[ It's possible this entire thing is a glorified hallucination but he's not saying that out loud. ]

Did anyone have any luck seeing through these illusions?

[For most, he assumes it would be easy to be tricked. But it's a lot harder to be misguided with the Force as your ally.]

That, you might have to ask around.

Meaning you didn't. Have you been seeing anything else out of the ordinary since then? [He might rephrase that, but what is considered ordinary in space is highly open to interpretation.]

[Even in his own slice of the fleet, he'd picked up that there had been something about blenders going on.]

[ There's a pause. ]

Usually, we get announcements from the Atroma talking about "fan letters", or telling us who's been abruptly promoted to captain. We haven't had one for months, when they were very regular.

And here I am, missing out on all the fun. Seems like my timing is as lousy as ever.

[ A soft heh. ]
