video;

Who: Kanan Jarrus and you can too!
Broadcast: All
Action: On the Iskaulit
When: If you really try

[Kanan is sitting at the Málum on the Iskaulit, having himself a quiet drink as he contemplates the so-called Space Bar he passed getting to this particular alternate establishment. Neither one were quite like the cantina he used to work in back on Gorse and neither one of them had quite the crowds either. There was always a few here and there, but it would be a real stretch to ever call them packed. Which is what prompts him to take the time to look at the ship rosters.]

I've been looking at the ship rosters today. It looks like all of the ships in this fleet are at max capacity. Is that normal?

[It's not because he was trying to figure out a way to get himself and Hera on the same ship! It was just... professional curiosity. That's all.]

I also didn't bother with an introduction on my last broadcast. My name is Kanan. [And the part where he'd actually give anything about himself is abruptly not included when he decides to end the feed.]

I wonder if being Captain really benefits them. Though I most certainly avoid getting to that rank.

I don't care much for ranks. As for being a General, that's something I had to accept as a Jedi.

[ He never cared for it, though he did care for his men. ]
beardstrokes: (Accepting it is harder)

[ He rubs his beard, considering this with characteristic seriousness. ]

I haven't run into many situations where that happens. But when you are a Padawan, you need to be prepared to accept any order your Master gives you as well as question it. It's important to know when to fight and when to accept.

The Force doesn't always explain where it will lead us. That is not our purpose to divine and as such, we can lose our way.

[ To try and break down the workings of the Force with questions and demands only clouds it. ]

[ That's not an uncommon belief and he can see it prevailing during the age of the Empire. ]

The Force doesn't exactly take sides. We were dealt a devastating defeat . . . but there is hope for victory too. Yoda has foreseen it and I believe, in the Skywalkers, that it came to pass.

[ Though TFA might shatter that view. ]

[ He hesitates. ]

Anakin fathered a family in secret. Luke Skywalker grew up to be a Jedi and overturned the Empire.

[ That must have been the victory Yoda spoke of. Before TFA happened, of course. ]

Apparently I had a hand in that, though they have yet to elucidate me on the how.

No. They did not.

[ Though the Jedi Order did often look the other way when it came to attachments. So long as there were no wedding vows attached. ]

I assume they were hidden afterwards.

It does. I'm not sure what I -- or Yoda was planning. Honestly, I do not know what we were thinking at the time if that is how it happened.

[ He can only surmise the situation was so dire that they put their hopes on the future rather than themselves. It . . . still felt like cheating but Obi-Wan must have had a good reason not to go after the Sith himself. Or help the rebels. ]

[ He hesitates. Not because he doesn't want to tell Kanan, but because he does. ]

I've been on Tatooine, from what I've gathered. I don't know for how long.

Anakin had family there - the Lars couple. Most likely, I will be nearby . . . I hope.

[ He knows very little of his sojourn to Tatooine and his actions taken along with Han, Luke and Leia. ]

[ Please don't go and kidnap Luke. ]

Most likely. Leia grew up with Bail and Breha Organa. Perhaps it was our plan to hide the Force-sensitive children, the more powerful ones away from the Empire's notice.

[ Until they were ready. But even though, Obi-Wan can't believe this was all there was to it. ]

[ He can follow that train of thought.

That's dangerous.

In many ways. Too many to even count. Force-sensitive children can be both a blessing or a gift, ready for plucking. Even Dooku fell. ]

The Force will know when the time is right.

Yes. So do I.

[ We can all rest on that notion that the Force can - and will dick us over if need be. ]
