001 - Video/Action - Welcome to space?
Who: Chloe Price and open!
Broadcast: Fleetwide, accidental
Action: For people on the Marsiva, if they like!
When: Right now! And on until shuffle
[There was a young woman with blue hair passed out on the floor of Marsiva. She looks maybe nineteen or twenty, her clothing seems to be a tad damp, and she shifting occasionally as if having a nightmare of some kind.]
-on't you forget about me..
[The words come out in a mumble against the floor, and maybe it's the way they sound in a spaceshiip that yanks her out of her sleep, but a second later her eyes flare open and she sits up in a shock.]
WAIT I- What? [Whatever she was expecting, the Marvisa was clearly not it, and after a quick, panicked look around, she scrambles to her feet.]
Okay, calm down. Maybe this a good thing. Okay. Okay [She is clearly talking to herself, with no idea anyone is watching. Trying to calm herself down, probably.] Still alive. What does that even...
[She finally seems to have noticed a nearby window and the void of space beyond it because she freezes, then immediately darts over to it, staring out for a long breath, one hand coming up to press against the glass, making sure it was there.]
...What the fuck. Am I in space?!

[ See? Dean knows that that's a thing. ...He's got no clue how to use it, but he knows what it is. And it's like that. Using the phone with video. Seems useful, even if he never bothered with it. ]
Can't help you.
[ He hasn't bothered with the communicators either, so he's no use to you there. Sorry, Chloe. ]
But if you need some tips on how to defend yourself... That I can do.
[ And even if she shoots him down because she already knows, that's fine, too. Different means, same ends. As long as she's not running around this place blind, Dean'll be satisfied. As good as he's going to feel without finding himself some real weapons, anyway. ]
no subject
[She shakes her head.]
Nah I'm cool man, I've got a...
[She goes to reach into the back of her waistband for her gun...only there's nothing there.]
What?
[Now she's desperately checking all her pockets, practically giving herself a patdown.]
What the fuck where is it?
no subject
When she mentions it, he still thinks she's talking about something about as deadly as mace, though. Still, he can empathize. ]
Yeah, they took all my bells and whistles, too.
[ He doesn't sound happy about it, but he sounds a hell of a lot less bothered by his missing stuff than he is of that window behind him, which he can still feel looking at him, even though he's not facing it. It's still there, cold and empty and making his skin crawl. ]
But you've got the whole Kate Winslet, Eternal Sunshine kind of look going on. One of those "thinks for herself, kicking ass and taking names" types, right? You already know how to disable somebody that grabs for you. Don't you?

[She is so sad. She liked having that gun.]
[She finally focuses on what he's actually saying though.]
Uh. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, not like, officially or any shit like that. But I've been in my share of fights.
no subject
Man, thought I'd feel better after hearing that, but I just feel worse.
Fights, alright, sure. No argument there. But what's a kid like you need a gun for?
no subject
[What is with this stupid ship...]
Uh. [She shrugs.] Protectin' myself from life man. It's a shit hurricane out there.
[Not that it had worked.]
no subject
You're a hunter?
[ Maybe she is, maybe not, but he won't know until he asks, and if she's not, he can play it off easy enough. ]
no subject
[Hippie liberal, sorry Dean.]
Life. People. Crazy nutbag serial killers and rich creepy perverts.
[Two separate people in fact.]
no subject
Crazies, I'll give you. But that other thing seems pretty specific.
[ Not that it's any of Dean's business, and it seems pretty personal, so he doubts she wants to talk about it. He moves on. ]
Look, Chloe. My cell's busted, but we have these, uh, communicator things. I'll be looking for a way off of this thing, and any kind of weapon I can find. In the meantime, if you get into any trouble, you call me, alright? If I'm nearby, I'll come running.
no subject
[And no she didn't really feel like sharing. Sorry dean.]
Uh.
[He clearly hadn't gotten the information dump from the various people on the monitors yet.]
Yeah, thanks? I mean, I can take care of myself. But...there's no way off this ship. Not till the weekend.
no subject
Or thought he needed to know. So much for being the helpful one here. ]
Weekend? What's happening on the weekend?
no subject
No clue how though. But it happens once a week?
no subject
[ That's just what Dean wants, to get beamed up with some mystery Scotty at the wheel. No way. Not a chance. He'll find a way off this thing before then, for sure. But in the meantime... He refocuses on the problem in front of him. Not gonna freak out about it in front of the kid. ...Not again, anyway. ]
Who's Max? Friend of yours?
no subject
Yeah, she's a friend from home. [Friend wasn't quite the word but oh well.] Said she's been here a while. Months. Which is so strange cause I saw her right before I was brought here.
no subject
[ He's quiet for a couple seconds, thinking about what she'd said. That means one of two things, far as he can see it. Either time moves different where they are, the way it does in Hell, where months in here are minutes out there. That's not so bad. Nothing he hasn't dealt with before, and far better than the other way around. But the other option is time-travel, and that's further up on Dean's "no thanks" list. Anyway, there's no way to know for sure without finding out who's behind this place. And either way, the goal's still the same: get the hell back home, which Chloe doesn't seem like she'll be able to do for him, and standing here talking to her isn't getting either of them closer to it. ]
That's good, that you've got somebody from home here who you can trust. You stick with Max. I'm gonna...
[ He glances over his shoulder, doesn't quite make it to looking at the window before looking back at Chloe and swallowing the sick feeling he's got from that big, empty space still looking just over his shoulder. ]
I'll, uh... keep looking around, see what I can find out about the place. You keep your head down, wait it out.
[ More lively, he adds with a level gaze and a sharply pointed finger. ]
And no more tapping the glass, you hear me?
no subject
I'll stay out of trouble. [Such a lie.]
Tapping? On the glass?
[She makes a face like she doesn't understand what he means, and lifts her hand up to the window, one finger hooked, ready, sooooo close...but not tapping yet.]
Like this right?
no subject
Dean's jaw tenses and he tilts his head back automatically at the threat, finger still pointed like the barrel of a gun he'd never really be pointing at her, even if he still had the freaking thing. ]
The non-sexy ghost haunting is coming. I mean it.
[ He threatens, half-heartedly, before dropping his finger. ]
But hey, I guess, if that's the worst you get into on this thing, the whole ship can count itself lucky.
I'll see you around, Chloe.
[ With lifted eyebrows and one last lingering "Seriously, don't die" kind of look, he turns and heads off, deeper into the ship, far away from that window as he can get. ]
no subject
Wait, are there sexy ghost hauntings?
[Oh whatever, she'll just snicker as she heads off in the other direction.]
no subject
Thanks, Chloe. Dean really needed to feel old on top of everything. This girl is way too much like Claire for her own good. He's walking away from that mess right now, fast as he can. ]
