Arrival broadcast
Who: Glitch and anyone interested!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva
When: Now?
[He comes awake slowly, almost peacefully. His dark eyes stay unfocused and close again, still relaxed and calm.
The second time they blink open, there's a bit more focus and they shift to look around him.
Then he freezes.
It's a fear reaction. It's the rabbit in the headlights, stay still, maybe you won't be noticed reaction. His eyes dart around to take in details, but then he relaxes when he realises he's alone.
His hands come up and feel along the zipper in his scalp, checking with ages old familiarity for any change. Apparently satisfied that everything is right, he lowers his hands down.]
Hello? Someone? Cain… ooh, flashy light, what's… oh! Are you a Far Speaker? Miniaturised far speaking technology, look at the clarity of the screen, that's a mirror quality image.
[The communicator is grabbed and starts being turned around in his hands. His clothing seems to have once been very fine, but is now torn and dirty. His pale skin is marked with small abrasions and the dirt of living rough.
He's also still chattering away quite happily to himself.]
I wonder what sort of broadcasting signal this is using, wireless magics don't get this small, usually, but if it were pre-Witch-
[He goes stiff with shock.]
Merciful light, the Witch! DG! Where am I, I need to get back, I have to- I have to-
[He blinks and his face relaxes, all the sharp panic gone.]
Ooh! Far Speaking technology! It's so small, how did they manage to get it that small?

Video
... are you feeling quite all right there, good ser?
Video
Hi! Yes! Fine as I ever do, have we met? I'm Glitch, they call me that because sometimes my synapses don't fire right.
Re: Video
...I cannot say we have ever been acquainted, no. [He's certain he'd remember someone like this.]
I am Tyrion. They call me that because that is my name. [His lips twist a little bit.] Where are you from, Glitch?
no subject
[He seems to be mildly frustrated, but it passes fast enough.]
Tyrion, nice to meet you. I won't remember that later, but it isn't anything personal, okay? I haven't been quite the same since they took my marbles.
I'm from-
[He pauses, mouth moving soundlessly and then gives a slightly helpless shrug.]
no subject
[Just how mentally addled was this man, anyways?]
What precisely do small glass balls have to do with remembering who I am?
[One eyebrow raises.]
Your country of origin? Your ... planet?
no subject
The computer had the same name-
Anyway, marbles, grey matter, brains. The Sorceress popped mine right on out, put this old zipper in instead.
[His blinks and his face goes briefly still and then he refocuses and smiles.]
Hi! Have we met? The name's Glitch!
no subject
Yes, I know. My name is Tyrion. We've already been introduced. You were saying something about a computer, which had nothing to do with my original question.
no subject
Computer? What computer? My brain's hooked up to a computer, it's why the Sorceress took it.
[Welcome to the wonders of talking to Glitch. If you're patient, you can start putting things together, things he isn't aware of.]
What was your question?
no subject
I see. So your name is Glitch, your brain is hooked up to a computer, it was done by a Sorceress, and my question was -- where do you come from?
no subject
I come from the O.Z., the Outer Zone. But... this isn't the O.Z., is it? I don't remember being this comfortable in the O.Z. before.
Not that that means much.
Not that that means much.
[The sentence is repeated with the same inflection, same expression, like someone hit repeat.]
no subject
Glitch you are ... glitching.
no subject
[He looks around him and gives a nervous giggle.]
There I go, not even noticing it!
no subject
[Tyrion asked, all too gently. This man was truly suffering the worst of all fates.]
no subject
It's a little frustrating sometimes.
no subject
[Of course one could just ... he didn't know, tie it around his neck or something to keep it in place.]
no subject
No.
Maybe. But I think I'd forget to do it. Or that I had it. Or probably both.

I know I find me very challenging to deal with.

no subject
I mean, my friends would, but they're not here and I don't know how they dealt with it.
no subject
[If for only the reason to help keep an eye on this hapless soul.]
no subject
[He looks much brighter at this prospect.]
