[For someone who looks like she stepped out of some medieval era, Ciri doesn't seem too alarmed by all the space and technology. It's easy enough for her to figure out how to broadcast, and she peers into the camera for a moment before speaking.]

So, two questions: where can I get a sword, and how exactly are my abilities dampened, here? [Because the first thing she tried to do was teleport back to Skellige, only for a whole lot of nothing to happen. Maybe if she didn't have enemies to demolish she'd actually feel some relief about the fact that what makes her a target for so many people is gone.] I can't be the only one. Someone must be very skilled to figure out how to keep that much control over us.

And... one more thing. I don't suppose any of my companions have found themselves here. [She frowns, brow creasing with worry. It's unlikely. She knows how sudden world-hopping works... or doesn't work. Still, she must try.] Geralt? Yennefer? Triss?

[A voice from a nearby bunk calls over to respond. She's definitely not answering questions, as that would imply something helpful.]

What abilities are you talking about? If you don't specify, people probably can't help.

[ Alistair is mostly just hanging around the Marsiva, eating way more of the icky protein food than he probably should. But, hey, he'll greet the new arrivals, why not? Especially the pretty ones. ]

I haven't seen a sword yet. If you find one, will you let me know?

[ He pauses a beat. ] Are you a mage, then?

[She doesn't really want to say anything about teleporting or portals on a broadcoast, but she's got a point.]

Under normal circumstances, I'd be able to get off this ship. Those sorts of abilities.

[percolates]

[More specifically, Ciri wants her sword, but she has a feeling she might need a sword to get it in the first place. She just can't seem to keep a hand on her possessions these days.]

Me, a mage? [She scoffs, only because that's actually funny.] No. I'm just not very accustomed to being stuck.

Who are you? If I am to share any information about swords, I might need your name.

[ That's an... interesting reaction. ]

I'm Alistair. Just a regular old Grey Warden, at your service.

[ He flashes her what he hopes is a winning smile - after his first inadvertent broadcast he hasn't been divulging the whole king thing to most people. What's the point? ]

So if you're not a mage, what sort of powers are you talking about?

Ciri. Pleasure to meet you. [His smile gets one in return from her as she introduces herself, but she's quick to latch onto the unfamiliar term:] What's a Grey Warden?

[Clearly some sort of warrior. She can tell that much at least--a soldier, perhaps? As for Alistair's question, Ciri tries to play it off with a shrug. No big deal.]

Like I said, I'm good at not being trapped. I tried to leave this place but nothing happened.

[Said so proudly! That's nice, but she doesn't know what that means.]

I'm afraid I'm as unfamiliar with those as much as I am with Grey Wardens.

Yeah, most people here don't. I still find it hard to believe, that someone wouldn't know about darkspawn. But consider yourself lucky. They're bad.

Monsters, I presume? [Or people. Probably monsters.]

Monsters. They come out of the ground, they're ugly, they smell bad...

We're most likely supposed to not leave, those kind of things are a no go. You got other stuff you can do unrelated to that?

[She sits up now, watching the other woman.] If so, maybe those are active.

[percolates]

So you, as a Grey Warden, fight monsters. [Interesting. Ciri's head tilts as she examines him from where she sits. He's no witcher but different worlds have their own ways of dealing with such things.]

Suppose you would need a sword for that.

[percolates]

... somewhat. I think I can do everything else, just not that. [She was able to teleport a few feet away, just not out. If her powers were gone completely she wouldn't be too upset about it, but if that were to happen, she'd rather be stranded at home.]

It's strange. I've never had an outside source block me like this.

Yep! Darkspawn, specifically. And we do it with whatever weapons we can find, but my training is in sword and shield.

[moonbay]

Sometimes you get used to crap like that. [She gives a shrug.] But hey! At least you have the other stuff-- whatever that is.

That's a decent upside, right?

Certainly. I'd feel best if I had a sword, though.

[She feels naked without it. Oh, well. Perhaps someone will be able to lend her one.]

I thought you looked like someone that'd use a shield. [You know, because there's A Look for those sorts.] I shall keep an eye out for one of those as well.

Like their goal is to make us feel comfortable.

[That gets a chuckle, because really.]

[She squints a little at the lack of video trying to determine if she messed something up. After a moment, she shrugs.]

I can... teleport. [Moonbay is right; being vague about this now isn't going to do her any favors.] Between places, worlds. Usually.
