[It starts recording without her realizing it. She's exploring her new surroundings cautiously. She places a hand on one of the cots and then pushes it through as if the cot weren't there at all. She removes her arm and both it and the cot are unharmed. Just testing her powers, don't mind her. She got worried when she realized her claws were missing.

Then she gets a better look at her communicator. It's a different model than she's used to.]

Is this another prison?

[It wouldn't be the first time the AIs sent them to a new facility. A space prison is as fitting as anything else, but there's usually some kind of message about it. This feels different.]

Is anyone from the Defense Force around? [Pause.] Or the X-Men. [She couldn't really be home though could she? In space?] Or anyone. Preferably someone with a light. [She can't find her lighter, but she still has a pack of cigarettes on her.]

(OOC: So, the coloring they used in AoA often makes her hair look reddish or blond, but I doubt the post-apocalyptic reality was really where she was going to start dying it. If you have known a Kitty Pryde, please just assume she looks like her—possibly younger or older. Shorter hair though. <3)

[Remy let out a sympathetic hiss to that before giving her a smile.] That sounds... 'nterestin'. Last place I was stuck in was a town stuck under a dome where we were bein' used as experiments 'nd soldier for our hosts.

[As for her question.] Magneto, [There was a sigh to go along with that, a little on the dramatic side.] Only excuse I got be that he paid well.

The prison was under a dome too. Kind of felt like they were experimenting on us. [Trying to make connections that aren't there.]

[She frowns at the Magneto comment.] That jerk has some explaining to do then. I never got paid. [Flippant. She's heard stories before of Magneto being the bad guy. Could it hurt to have at least one other world where she's not alone on this one?]

Ahh, clearly ya should had set ya contract up better. [Although that did raise other questions around this all.] Sooo... ol' Buckethead be part of the X-Men for ya, or ya be... [He left that last part hanging, leaving her to fill it in.]

Or am I a mutant mercenary? No. [She doesn't really sound offended.]

He started the X-Men to fight Apocalypse. He took the name from a friend of his who died.

Xaiver? [It was an easy guess to make, and he will process the whole 'he started the X-Men' later on.]

Ya'll got to put up with Apocalypse as well? Merde, that ain't no fun.

That's the one. [She met a young version of him in the prison, but he was dead before she was around at home.]

No, fun was definitely lacking. He was winning by a lot.

That a damn shame to hear. Back home the teams just managed to push him back, but donno what happened to him after they stopped his grand evil scheme. Got a feelin', as cliche as the line be, that ain't seen the last of him.

I take considerin' ya situation that ya'll don't have some magic bullet or 'nything like that to stop him for the next time he comes back then?

We had...a plan. It was kind of desperate and far fetched. [But they were all coming together on it.] But it was specific to our situation. It probably wouldn't have helped anyone else.

So you were part of helping fight Apocalypse?

[Oh dear...] Uh... not quite. [You've been using that a lot, Remy.] I had kinda vanished after I left Mag's 'mployment for the most of it. [Other than to kidnap Rogue...] Had some family issues to work on.

But, [Yes! Divert attention away from him!] The X-Men, Brotherhood, 'nd two of the boys who worked with me in the Acolytes teamed up to stop him. Was quite a show.

[Well, she was almost impressed.] Family issues when the world was going to be destroyed? You know, lack of world is also an issue that affects families. [She may have seen past your diversion.]

Well when ya put it that way 'course it's goin' to sound bad. [It really did.] Don't matter, they managed without me just fine, won the day 'nd all that merde. [Although, saying that to a... was girl the right term? This was an older Shadowcat than Remy was use to, then again it took a long time for him to stop thinking of Rogue that same way. Still, it seemed wrong to say it to someone going through what happened if Apocalypse won.] It worked out.

[She's twenty these days, but it's all relative.] I hope it stays worked out. [Which she means. She doesn't want what happened to her world to happen to any other. And for all her admonishing sarcasm if she had the chance to see her family alive again she doesn't know that she wouldn't have taken off before a fight...maybe.]

I do have a very important question, and I think you just may be the man to answer it for me.

Well I can certainly try to answer it 'nd hope I live up to 'xpectations on it all. [Ok, this might be interesting.]

[So interesting. Are you even prepared for this? She holds up the pack of cigarettes she still had on her person.] There a way to get more of these or am I going cold turkey soon?

[Remy let out a bark of a laugh before shooting her a sympathetic look.] I hate to break it to ya, but goin' to give ya the same advice I was when I got here; make them last.

I managed to save 'way two of my own, 'nd my carton was pretty full when I got here. On top of that, if ya a coffee drinker 'd say make the most of where ya be on that ship. Not all of the other ships got coffee rations, so if that ya fuel of choice ya better get ya fill while ya there.

And I already gave one way. It's hard being a hero. [Might be the most heroic thing ever.] Thanks for the tip. Do they let us take stuff from here when we get shipped out?

More or less, but don't think you can go haulin' 'round a bed or two or some of the fittin's, the transports aren't that big. It more or less what ya can carry on ya. Plus, if ya lucky, ya won't need to take stuff, ya ship ya get stuck on will be upgraded 'nough to have all the luxuries our hosts allow for us... which ain't much.

But I won't know that part until I'm there, right? Nice system they have.

[She appreciates the advice though. Her world's Gambit left the team when Rogue and Magneto started up, but he was always an X-Man. He came back when they needed him. And even though this isn't her world's Gambit there's already a level of trust and understanding that comes with sharing the face.]

So what do you do here? And how long have you been here?

Gotta keep us on our toes somehow between the long borin' periods of travel.

[As for the questions.] Ahh, let's see, it's been... comin' up four months for me here I guess, longer if ya count the last place I was in. As for what to do, well, when we ain't docked at a planet or station, 'nything to keep the hours rollin' by. [He had started his own little scheduled to keep him sane, even if he was quickly getting bored of it. There was only so much to entertain him while stuck on the ships, he was an active guy, he needed to move about and do things but also keep his mind occupied enough that he didn't go and do anything stupid.] Mostly tryin' to make the food half eatable here, 'nd 'ccumulatin' credits so can take some R 'n R at the new bars we just got opened up on a couple of the ships.

Really, it's more or less just waitin' for wherever we stop off next.

A normal person might like the idea of an extended space cruise. Sucks not to be normal. [Because that sounds like a special form of torture to bore her.] No working on escape?

Normal's over rated. [Coming from a guy who liked his powers...]

Far as I know, there no escape plan. Most when they get here talk 'bout it, try to think of ideas, but where would we go? Funny thing 'bout space is it's kinda big.

'nd from what I hear they got some sort of transporter beam or something, so if ya get too far 'way 'nd they just pull ya back to ya ship.

Agreed. Escape is problematic and doesn't get us to different realities. I'm more into coups anyway. But is the Atroma on the Marsiva or not?

From what I understand of this mess, non, don't believe they be, but not sure where they be then. We get messages from them now 'nd then, but for the most we kinda left on our own. [There was a shrug to go along with it, knowing it wasn't a great set of information to offer.]

So, they aren't here and these ships can't break away out of range even if we knew where they were. [She sighs a little.] Well, I didn't think it was going to be easy or you guys wouldn't be here.

Something like that. It's also a case for some that life might be better here than back home. [Another shrug, not letting on if that included him or not.]

So Remy's grand advice on this all; make the most of it. The ships may be borin', but if ya got a good crew that helps, 'nd hell, how often do ya get to go to other planets... ya don't have commercial space travel where ya from, do ya? [Because that would totally throw that last piece of advice out of the window.]
