[It starts recording without her realizing it. She's exploring her new surroundings cautiously. She places a hand on one of the cots and then pushes it through as if the cot weren't there at all. She removes her arm and both it and the cot are unharmed. Just testing her powers, don't mind her. She got worried when she realized her claws were missing.

Then she gets a better look at her communicator. It's a different model than she's used to.]

Is this another prison?

[It wouldn't be the first time the AIs sent them to a new facility. A space prison is as fitting as anything else, but there's usually some kind of message about it. This feels different.]

Is anyone from the Defense Force around? [Pause.] Or the X-Men. [She couldn't really be home though could she? In space?] Or anyone. Preferably someone with a light. [She can't find her lighter, but she still has a pack of cigarettes on her.]

(OOC: So, the coloring they used in AoA often makes her hair look reddish or blond, but I doubt the post-apocalyptic reality was really where she was going to start dying it. If you have known a Kitty Pryde, please just assume she looks like her—possibly younger or older. Shorter hair though. <3)

Hi. So, you're a mutant? An X-Man?

[It's a human name; Nita took it from her foster mother.]

I'm a mutant but I've never been on the X-Men. I hang around the Fantastic Four, mostly.

[Just. Not going to mention the New Warriors after the whole Civil War thing.]

I haven't heard of them either. [Since they never got powers and had a group name. They were heroes though.] Well...Spider-Man might have mentioned them once. [But not a Spider-Man from her world.]

From what Dr. Richards says, there are a lot of timelines where they die in the accident that gave them powers in our timeline.

[She shrugs in a "what're ya gonna do?" gesture. Infinite universes, infinite possibilities.]

Oh. Guess it could have been that then. [Except not.] Who was leading the X-Men in your world? [It doesn't really help to know. They already realize the realities are different, but it's kind of her go-to question. And she keeps wondering when the answer is going to line up with her world's.]

[I googled and Schism hasn't happened yet at her canon point, woo.]

Cy... [Annoyed sigh.] Of course. [He works for Apocalypse in her world, but she's heard that he's an X-Man in others.] Who founded it then? Or was it him?

[That's weird. Nita knows he's not the most popular guy on the planet, but she's reasonably sure he and Kitty have always gotten along.]

Professor X started the team, but Cyclops has pretty much always been the leader, I think.

I guess that sounds like the usual story. [From a few different worlds at least.] I get to be unique. [Alone. Whatever.]

My mutation is flight.

[The way Nita says it is a little weird, like she's answering the question she thinks Kitty meant to ask, rather than the one she actually did.]

[She's noticing that.] But you have other non-mutation-based abilities? Outside of your word per minute typing.

[Her typing speed is probably dire.]

Does Namor exist in your timeline? The Sub-Mariner? I'm like him.

Namor? [She has to think about it for a moment.] The Atlantian? They were all... [Nope. Stop. Back up that train.] I didn't know him. [Good save?]

[Nita's clueless about a lot of things, but her people skills are on-point, and Kitty's not fooling anybody.]

He's dead, huh?

[A nod.] Apocalypse wasn't big on letting people live.

[Nita's sort of vaguely aware that AoA is a thing, but it doesn't really affect her beyond the fact that she's a decent person who feels bad about other people's suffering.]

That's your timeline? I'm sorry.

[The girl could just mean it at face value. It's a timeline where Apocalypse was a dick and there was much death, but she decides to play the optimist for a moment.]

Have you heard of it before or one like it? [Optimist might not be the right term here. It's not like it would be a good thing if there were more worlds like hers. It's just...no one has really known anything about it since she was at home.]
