[It starts recording without her realizing it. She's exploring her new surroundings cautiously. She places a hand on one of the cots and then pushes it through as if the cot weren't there at all. She removes her arm and both it and the cot are unharmed. Just testing her powers, don't mind her. She got worried when she realized her claws were missing.

Then she gets a better look at her communicator. It's a different model than she's used to.]

Is this another prison?

[It wouldn't be the first time the AIs sent them to a new facility. A space prison is as fitting as anything else, but there's usually some kind of message about it. This feels different.]

Is anyone from the Defense Force around? [Pause.] Or the X-Men. [She couldn't really be home though could she? In space?] Or anyone. Preferably someone with a light. [She can't find her lighter, but she still has a pack of cigarettes on her.]

(OOC: So, the coloring they used in AoA often makes her hair look reddish or blond, but I doubt the post-apocalyptic reality was really where she was going to start dying it. If you have known a Kitty Pryde, please just assume she looks like her—possibly younger or older. Shorter hair though. <3)

Hey I've got a hella awesome idea, let's talk about you instead of letting me ramble on about me.

[Little smirk.] What do you want to know?

You know, normal shit. Where ya from, what do you do?

Chicago. [Pretending like she's not from a suburb.] Teacher. Assassin. That kind of thing. [It's okay to "that kind of thing" assassin-ing, right?]

[Just give her a second to process that appro-.]

[Kitty leans against the wall, tilting her head a bit.] It was awhile ago. [So, back when she was a teenager. You know how kids can be?] And not for money. [Her hand falls on her pack of cigarettes. Ready to start up another, but remembering she needs to make them last.]

Part of a bigger thing. Trying to stop a guy from killing everyone and generally destroying the world. [It was her life, but it sounds strange to say it even to her ears. Grand on a scale a little girl from the suburbs probably never should have been playing on.]

A 'good' assassin, you mean. [Chloe had planned to kill a couple people so she could get that.]

Did it work? Didja save the world?

As much as that can be a thing I guess. [Killing always took a toll on her, but normally she was too embroiled in all of it to have the time to stop and be affected by it all. Until the prison. She had lots of time and peace there. Not enough to accept and heal, but enough to open up the wounds she was ignoring. So that's something.

She shakes her head.] It got really bad. Wasn't there to see how it ended. [From what the wardens told her the plan worked. The timeline was reset. But is that saving the world or ending it faster?]

Isn't that the worst damn part? Like, you're pretty sure you pulled everything off...

But you don't get to see the ending. You don't get to know for sure.

Oh, I don't know. I like to think there are lots of worst parts. [Little smile.]

[She sighs.]

Maybe I'm just trying not to dwell on the rest of it.

Fair enough. On the plus side...excellent view for stargazing. [It's not much of a plus side, but you work with what you've got.]

[Chloe smiled at that.]

Yeah. I mean, as much as I'm bitching...I can think of worse places to end up than traveling through space.

Not disagreeing there. Hey, I'm going to do some exploring since I don't know when I'm getting shipped out of here so it might be my only chance. I'll be around though.
