[It starts recording without her realizing it. She's exploring her new surroundings cautiously. She places a hand on one of the cots and then pushes it through as if the cot weren't there at all. She removes her arm and both it and the cot are unharmed. Just testing her powers, don't mind her. She got worried when she realized her claws were missing.

Then she gets a better look at her communicator. It's a different model than she's used to.]

Is this another prison?

[It wouldn't be the first time the AIs sent them to a new facility. A space prison is as fitting as anything else, but there's usually some kind of message about it. This feels different.]

Is anyone from the Defense Force around? [Pause.] Or the X-Men. [She couldn't really be home though could she? In space?] Or anyone. Preferably someone with a light. [She can't find her lighter, but she still has a pack of cigarettes on her.]

(OOC: So, the coloring they used in AoA often makes her hair look reddish or blond, but I doubt the post-apocalyptic reality was really where she was going to start dying it. If you have known a Kitty Pryde, please just assume she looks like her—possibly younger or older. Shorter hair though. <3)

[He teasingly waggles a finger at the mention of a trap.]

Hey, it's too early to catch onto my schemes!

[Then he smiles fondly, and goes on more seriously.]

But... I'm glad to hear that. Here's hoping I don't disappoint? [Then he pauses a little before he goes on.]

It's... it's a good thing for me, too. You don't have to be the same Kitty I know. You're - you're an awesome Kitty on your own. [He still does miss 'his' Kitty dearly. But this one has so much of her personality with her own unique qualities - he definitely can't say he dislikes getting to know her.]

[See, all that right there is why he's so easy to like. It does strange warm things to her heart, but also worries her.]

You barely know me. [She's pretty sure she's going to be the one to disappoint. Normally, she just expects to be disliked and then it's a happy surprise when she isn't, but in this case she already doesn't want to expect that.]

But I am pretty awesome. [Trying to cut back on the seriousness.]

I think I got the basics down at least. [He's trying to prepare himself for any mental curveballs. He doesn't really know what to expect. But he already doesn't feel ready to give up on this Kitty easily, or at all.]

Okay, let's not get too ahead of ourselves, Miss Awesome! We don't want our egos to get too big - the spaceships can only fit so much, you know?

Hey, you started it. I can't help if you know a great thing when you see it. [This is easier than really getting into things. Just playful banter. It never hurt anyone! As long as she remembers not to use last names.]

I do have a good eye for that kind of stuff.

[Playful banter indeed. Even without knowing - and probably denying the possibility of - what exactly Kitty's world is like, it's just more comfortable for him, especially with a version of Kitty.]

I started this awesome praise train. I guess I'd better see it through to its station too!

I won't stop you if you want to say more things about how great I am. Doesn't seem like I have a lot else going on right now.

[You probably don't want to know about her world. Maybe she could tell you about the prison instead. It was a nicer place.]

Yeah, there isn't much at all. While you wait to be shuffled, your first trial is to survive the boredom. I guess my flattery is your only hope! I like what you've been doing with your hair?

Wow, I'm suddenly so much less bored [Boredom wasn't really a problem yet. So many people to meet and things to explore] and full of confidence about my hair.

You almost remind me of Morph like this. [Not a lot of joking around back home, but Morph never stopped.]

Morph? [He furrows his brow in thought.] I don't think I know anyone by that name where I'm from.

Kevin Sidney? Light grey skin. Shape shifter. Not so good at having a nose.

...Sorry, the name doesn't ring a bell. ...Or the nasally challenged part. ...Maybe the Prof just hasn't found him yet.

It wasn't really the [Pause] Prof who did in my world, so maybe that's it. [Though a lot of the other members made it together.

Yeah? Oh... I guess things are just organized a little differently between our worlds! [Nervous laughter.]

More than a little. [Noting the nervousness though, so she isn't going to push it.]

Oh. [His smile falters a little, but he tries to maintain a lighthearted tone.]

D-different worlds, huh? They're... like the box of chocolates. You never know what you're getting!

It's okay, Kurt. You don't have to hear about it. [He seems so innocent. She doesn't want to change that.]

[He almost wants to say thanks, but he's not sure if he really feels it. The way she says that seems to confirm it's something bad... so Kurt feels guilty about letting her carry that by himself. And he feels like he's just a big kid for hiding from something like this.

But he still doesn't feel like he's ready to hear. So he frowns as answers her.]

...I- I guess I don't. But... you know, if you ever want to talk, or tell me about anything... I can take it, alright? [That's the compromise he'll settle with. If it's something that will help a Kitty, that will make it worth listening.]

[It's okay, she's had people she could talk about it with in the past and Rogue seems like someone she could talk about it now with. She just smiles at him softly.] I know you could. Thank you, Kurt. I'm okay, really. [More or less.]

Well... It's good to hear that. [He smiles softly.]

Keep up the okayness! Or maybe try to aim for an 'awesome'!

Being adorable is part of your power set, isn't it? [Teasing as much as complimenting. She doesn't even know what to do with his version of Nightcrawler, but she does like him.]

[He chuckles bashfully.]

It just might be. I know that I was born with - I can tell that much at least! [Not even he knows what to do with himself, so she's not in bad company. Rather, ridiculous company]

[She just shakes her head, amused.] So, how do I find you once I'm off of this spaceship?

You have to climb the tallest tower, fight a dragon and use a magic spell to wake me... [He pauses for any potential laughter.]

Or we can just work out a normal meeting. You can take a shuttle over to me in the Huntress, or I can head over to wherever you end up. Or we can meet on the space station! [He smirks.] Just look for the guy in blue.
