Who: James Potter [[personal profile] misterprongs]
Broadcast: Fleetwide!
Action: U.S.S. Paisley.
When: Now!

[ james has been on the fleet for some time now, and has gotten into a routine. said routine has been shifted about slightly, due to their landing on the station. he's been working and exploring the city and trying out half a dozen things that he probably shouldn't, but for now, he's decided to embark on an entirely different adventure. ]

People without magic are altogether capable of slaying troublesome beasts.

It depends what weapon you prefer. I use a sword, but others in my acquaintance use a bow and arrow, battle axes, maces... It depends on the creature you want to kill and how many people are in your party, too. If you have a company of archers fighting a gryphon, for instance, they might down it before it has a chance to reach them. However, a lone warrior might want to equip a sword to fight one instead of a bow and arrow.

Just a moment.

[in several moments, she sends him a photo of a rough sketch of the creature on the right.]

That is a gryphon. And yes, I have, but that's beside the point - I'm afraid I don't understand the point of your bear story. Would you explain it to me?

I see.

If leaving them alone were possible, I'd certainly prefer to do so. I'm afraid by the time they see you, you have little choice but fight them, so it's not such an extraordinary feat so much as a necessary one. Still, thank you.

These hippogriffs, were they common in your world? And they were docile enough that they would leave you be if you did the same?
