[ The video activates itself to reveal a young man staring into space. His eyes are probably the most startling thing about him. Bright, eerily blue eyes that seem to pierce the fabric of reality. You may also see brown flecks of creatures embedded into his skin, near the neck and face.

And suddenly his gaze snaps back to the camera and he is all smiles and good intentions, as if a switch had been turned on. He sits on one of the many beds on the Marsiva Deck and kicks his legs, caught between the impression of a boy and a man.

( or something much older and far more dangerous ) ]

I do not need the spiel and I'm sure you are all quite thankful for that, but I am curious to know what qualifies as entertainment for our most benevolent hosts?

You know magic, then. What kind?

[ He hums lightly. Leto doesn't like talking about his powers. It tends to put people off. ]

Similar to your gatekeeper, Heimdall. I can perceive things from vast distances, through time and space. I can see the now and the future as well as the past.

[ Yet what he hears is a heavy burden. ]

Can you see as clearly here?

I still possess the clarity to perceive the timelines. But there is no one future but many. And I see them all. All possible moments, all potential outcomes, all flowing together.

Clarity does not offer certainty in time.

And can you see the Atroma's?

[ He shakes his head. ]

It's clouded. Most likely with magic.

[ And even if he could see it, he would not say much either way. He is not here to be the master of the Atroma's fate or theirs. ]

[ He nods. ]

They have formidable power, to be keeping us all here.

I wonder if their power lies in how they keep us here . . . or in the fact that we are all blind to the Atroma.

We know little and that is their true power.

Agreed. All I have met refer to them simply as the collective. No names, no descriptions.

Yes. And there are very few creatures I know that would allow themselves to be referred to as such.

[ The magical story-creatures of Aather, the Personae. But he doesn't sense their hand here and they were never so mysterious or cruel. ]

[ They are some kind of dining hall now, with small tables. He can't smell food from anywhere, but there's machines, with bright buttons and plates. ]

We can only do so much speculation from here, Leto. What would you like to eat?

[ Food. Just looking at it makes him queasy. The Worm in him recoils in horror, battling against his mind. Leto forces him away. He was in control here. ]

I'm not hungry at the moment. Please, help yourself.

[ He's not one to insist, and so gestures Leto towards an empty section of the table with enough space, and brings over a small plate (okay, a relatively large plate) of well... everything. ]

[ He raises an eyebrow. ]

Try not to outdo Volstagg the Voluminous so soon.

[ A chuckle. ]

I am merely curious about what is here, my friend.

Curiosity might afford you a tummy ache, as they say.

Ever had bacon? It was Loki's favourite.

I have, with eggs. It was delicious.

He would eat it constantly, the little brat. I became intimately familiar with the smell.

[ There's a note of fierce pride in his voice, talking about Loki. They had a rocky start. Loki existed to break the roles and so did Leto, and it both cost them a lot. ]

[ It's a brother's pride, and Thor can't help the honest and fond one he flashes back at Leto. They have changed, him and Loki, and all he knows is that they will continue to — there's no certainty that they will ever be together as they were as children. ]

Did he?

[ An invitation for more, if Leto wishes. Thor will never turn down news of Loki. ]

Oh, yes. The quintessential Midgardian dish, along with milkshakes.

So I would make it as regularly as I could, when the opportunity afforded it. Though, I would have to slap his hands away when he got too greedy.

One of his many mischiefs, I expect.

He is the Trickster. And he came to terms with it.

[ Ruby had no small part in that. Loki was already miles ahead when Leto arrived, but he caught up soon enough. ]

[ It wasn't long ago that Loki's tricks were playful rather than malicious. ]

Have you spoken to the one here, yet?

No. And there's little point in it. He is a Loki, on his own dangerous path and it is fully his doing.

[ Loki would have asked Leto to save him, it's true. But he wouldn't.

Damn him. Damn them all. ]

Even him knowing the future would not change that.
