[ The video activates itself to reveal a young man staring into space. His eyes are probably the most startling thing about him. Bright, eerily blue eyes that seem to pierce the fabric of reality. You may also see brown flecks of creatures embedded into his skin, near the neck and face.

And suddenly his gaze snaps back to the camera and he is all smiles and good intentions, as if a switch had been turned on. He sits on one of the many beds on the Marsiva Deck and kicks his legs, caught between the impression of a boy and a man.

( or something much older and far more dangerous ) ]

I do not need the spiel and I'm sure you are all quite thankful for that, but I am curious to know what qualifies as entertainment for our most benevolent hosts?

If they have the power to bring people here and send us back home, they certainly have the power to manipulate us in other ways to create conflict.

Yes, but have you seen it? The possibility of "if" exists in all of us. Have they actually done something to merit it?

No. But no one has seen the Atroma, period. They don't work where we can see them.

Hm. I've had some experience with omnipotent powers, but this is odd. Even for them. To not speak, or guide, or even taunt . . . speaks of not a sentient power, but perhaps a mechanical one, following rules.

No one knows who or what the Atroma are. Your guess is as good as anyone's.

Then I will have to keep guessing.

And guessing is really what we're all doing at the moment.

Then perhaps we could compile our guesses and eliminate what we know for sure to be false?

There's not much. I haven't spoken to anyone who's had direct contact with the Atroma. They don't seem inclined to direct interference, aside from bringing us here in the first place.

There's no way the Atroma could be among us right now?

I mean, I suppose it's possible they could be pretending to be captives here like the rest of us. But I don't know what purpose that would serve, aside from spying on us when they already seem to do that electronically.

Ah, but do we know it is electronic? I heard that our cameras are actually red herrings and they do not actually send a signal or record us.

Where did you hear that? I don't have an engineering augment so my ability to run tests is limited, but it's easy enough to hide cameras and other recording equipment on ships.

Someone informed me of it. I'm only passing on the information.

I was just curious, because I'd love to confirm or deny surveillance equipment on the ships. It could be very helpful.

I do not think we can, without the aid of the Atroma. And that sort of aid will not come.

Other people might want to assign omnipotence to the Atroma, but I'm not one of them.

What would you assign to them then?

Arrogance. Like just about anyone with the kind of power they have. And arrogance can be exploited, if we can just figure out how.

It would be easier if we knew where they were . . . or found a way to contact them.
