The layout of these controls don't make any kind of sense. Not by any scheme I've seen on a ship, anyway.

[Yep, there is a teenager with her device propped on a nearby console, leaning elbows on another while she peers at it, intent. As she goes, she nearly taps buttons and levers, behaving enough not to actually muck with anything.]

It's not like snubfighter controls. Believe me, I know. But if this were anything like a Corellian YT-series I'd expect this to handle pitch, and...that should be yaw. Are the thrusters strictly forward? Maybe there's a z-axis control.

[These are all incorrect, and she seems to understand that. She chews her bottom lip, distracted with thought, before she finally turns her head to look directly into the camera again.]

How universal are the designs on these ships? I'm on Bishop, and there's a few things I can peg as customizations, but not too much. I've got a feeling I should try to learn as much as I can. Especially if I'm going to have to open a few of these panels up after a while to make sure it keeps working correctly.

[Admittedly, part of that feeling is the simple fact that regardless of the circumstances surrounding her presence in this fleet, she is stoked about learning the intricacies of a new style of ship.]

Not a very good idea to overfill a ship, no matter how advanced the tech around here might be. How limited is access to supplies? Maybe we could work on some modifications.

[Bec/ause Jaina is awful and loves an engineering challenge, she's clearly already bouncing some ideas around in her imagination. She's already chewing her lip again while she thinks.]

...But we can't go cannibalizing the other ships for parts if we need them at full operational status.

[ He raises an eyebrow at cannibalizing parts. ]

There's a station nearby for supplies. I'm sure we're fine for now.

[Hey, if you need to expand a ship while you're already in space...At least, that's where Jaina's train of thought has gone.]

The fleet's on the move, isn't it? Do we know how long the station stay in range?

The others would know better. They've been here longer. If I had to guess, I would say a month or so. Maybe two or three.

[A nod, to show she understands.]

Got it. So does anyone have a plan yet?

[ Oh boy. ]

I'm sure there are several, bouncing off the walls here. None that have an concrete chance of success, I'm afraid.

But I have only been here for a month. You'll find that others will possess more information and help develop a plan. I'll only worry that it's been tried and tested already.

I guess I hadn't thought of that.

[She's not used to being around others who take the initiative on problems.]

Isn't a month a long time to wait before trying something, though?

It's importance to practice patience rather than to jump at every opportunity. I listen to the Force, not my own feelings on the matter.

[She looks up, trying to remember a lesson to cite.]

But you've got to trust your feelings. If the Force works through us, even in our instincts, then you can't entirely cut them out of the equation.

I never said to cut them out in its entirety. But if you place too much faith in your feelings, you might miss what the Force is telling you.

[ Jedi practice mastery, not the omittance of emotions. Something that often gets lost in translation, he finds. ]

So how do you tell the difference? It seems like they tend to bundle up pretty well. If Uncle Luke says he has a bad feeling about something, it's usually pretty accurate.

[ Uncle Luke.

Blast. He knew it but he still wasn't totally prepared for it. ]

Yes, well. Your Uncle Luke got it from me. So I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

[Hang on, she's going to squint at her screen. There's really only two possibilities for who "gave it" to Uncle Luke, and Obi-wan isn't a green muppet.]

Wait. You're Obi-wan Kenobi? Old Ben?

[ His lips purse at the name Ben. He still would like to know why he'd use that particular moniker.

The old part was just insulting. ]

[But it's accurate! From a certain point of view.

[She'll clear her throat, try to have a semblance of respect for a master.]

[She nods, confirming it.]

That's quite a generous offer, but I think I'll pass on it.

[ It's one fear laid to rest. ]

Someone had to, and he's the one who had you and Yoda's help. He doesn't have to do it alone, though. The first students in the praxeum are able to serve as instructors now.

Then the Jedi Order . . .

[ He trails off. He doesn't know what to expect. It'll never be the same again, never be the Jedi Order he knew. ]

[She only half-catches his line of thought, there.]

The Jedi Order will be back soon. We're already helping the New Republic where we can.

Well, then. I hope the new Jedi Order will avoid the pitfalls of the last one.

[ And that hurt to say. ]

Well...It can't happen again. The people behind the Empire are gone, and the people who would want to bring it back are just fighting among themselves in the Imperial Remnant.

Things are looking pretty good for the galaxy.

[ He exhales, relieved. ]
