The layout of these controls don't make any kind of sense. Not by any scheme I've seen on a ship, anyway.

[Yep, there is a teenager with her device propped on a nearby console, leaning elbows on another while she peers at it, intent. As she goes, she nearly taps buttons and levers, behaving enough not to actually muck with anything.]

It's not like snubfighter controls. Believe me, I know. But if this were anything like a Corellian YT-series I'd expect this to handle pitch, and...that should be yaw. Are the thrusters strictly forward? Maybe there's a z-axis control.

[These are all incorrect, and she seems to understand that. She chews her bottom lip, distracted with thought, before she finally turns her head to look directly into the camera again.]

How universal are the designs on these ships? I'm on Bishop, and there's a few things I can peg as customizations, but not too much. I've got a feeling I should try to learn as much as I can. Especially if I'm going to have to open a few of these panels up after a while to make sure it keeps working correctly.

[Admittedly, part of that feeling is the simple fact that regardless of the circumstances surrounding her presence in this fleet, she is stoked about learning the intricacies of a new style of ship.]

[She's quiet while she makes a mental note to try and remember to think in terms of Anakin Skywalker, not Darth Vader. She knows one identity could be considered distinct from the other, and that it was Anakin at the end who saved Uncle Luke from the Emperor.

It's still a little weird to hear someone casually refer to him by that name.]

I wonder what he's like. All I know about him from that time is he was a pilot and a Jedi.

[Ahsoka seems to brighten instantly. She knows of Order 66, of the Empire, but she doesn't yet know about Darth Vader. All she knows is Anakin Skywalker, her mentor and brother-in-arms. It had been gutting to meet Leia at first, to realise that Anakin has a daughter who wants nothing to do with him, because as far as she's concerned? Anakin is a great guy. So to hear his granddaughter ask "I wonder what he's like," gives her hope that maybe all isn't lost.]

Maybe you can ask him yourself. He's here too.

[Then Ahsoka gets a devious look on her face.]

[She suspects there's more to this, going by Ahsoka's look. But doesn't that just make it that much more interesting?]

Everyone's spread out among the ships, right? I wonder if there's a crew manifest anywhere I could consult.

[Jaina will get a "beep" on her comm, notifying her of a file transfer.]

[Excuse her while she nabs the comm and goes over the file.]

Hard to say just yet. Judging by what I'm hearing, anything viable would be more difficult than I'd be picturing at the start.

[Going to try to stay positive, though. There is no try, etc. etc.!]

First thing is to talk some pilots into a race. I want to see exactly how much these ships are capable of, and how much they vary. Plus, it'll be good for morale.

Are we able to requisition any supplies? We can use coordinates for starting and ending points, but it won't be much of a trial if everyone just flies in a straight line.

... I wish we could just throw this dumb cargo out into space and use THAT as obstacles. But it's probably not worth it.

Apparently it's "unauthorized." Whatever that means! So the authorities here have frozen everyone's accounts pending investigation.

Talk about a beat-up.

Who put the cargo there to begin with? It's not our fault.

And if it's unauthorized, maybe we should just unload it sooner than later.

The Atroma did.

And our accounts are already frozen. Unloading the cargo won't unfreeze them. We may as well keep them and get to the bottom of what the Atroma are up to.

It's infuriating, but if there's one thing I've learned here, it's that you get more by pretending to go along with them than outright rebellion.
