001

Who: Uzumaki Naruto & All the people.
Broadcast: Open Network Post
Action: The Hospitality Deck, and maybe the poor unsuspecting people of SS Huntress. (????)
When: 6th February

[Waking up in a place he didn't recognise, but knew instantly was nowhere like back home was unfortunately, a familiar feeling.

Waking up without his right arm, also, happened not to be an unfamiliar sensation. The fact that it had been healed, and all of his clothes repaired however, was as new for him as it was pleasant.

Naruto's understanding of the importance of his communicator, and surprisingly - the way it worked hadn't concerned him in the slightest, but it's several hours after his arrival on board the hospitality deck that he finally chooses to direct his attention to it. Fed, watered, and as clued up on what was going on as he could ever be without someone to direct his questions at left him here.

As soon as he starts recording his transmission, he gets right to the point. There's no familiar smile on his face, in fact - he looks bored. Fed up, probably. Their fight had ended, things were supposed to be getting better but now he's here.]

Know there's gotta be someone out there who can tell me what's up. Ain't Adstring, and it ain't Asgard. Who's controllin' everything? Who do we have t'fight this time? Why's it dark out. A guy called Madara didn't try an' steal the moon or something, right?

Not my home. I was taken straight from a different interdimensional shithole to here.

... It's possible, I suppose. There's always the chance the Atroma were being intentionally misleading. But that's where the evidence points right now.

... The Atroma are the ones who brought us here. To my knowledge, they don't lie outright to our faces, though I personally don't believe the whole reality show thing is true, since they've never given evidence for that.

I know they're not honest, at least.

We're working on that part, too. But I, for one, am totally out of ideas, unless you can just walk through walls to get deeper into the Marsiva to tell us what's there.

And the implant would probably disable it if you could. But it was worth a shot.

...

Do me a favor and feel right here.

[She manages to get her judging stare under control fairly quickly, at least. She pats the base of her skull, where the bump from her implant is, turning her head to show Naruto.]

At some unknown point before you woke up here.

[she's helping.]

That's right. They provide some generally useless information, allow us all to speak the same language, and appear to have some control over our perceptions and memories.

... I try very hard not to think about that part, honestly.

Because when "invasive brain surgery" is the least terrible option, it becomes more distressing than useful. Also, there's nothing anyone can do about it, since they control our perceptions. They cause an intense reaction if you try to do anything to them.

Yeah. They also cause similar reactions if you do anything to someone else's, and no one's exactly jumping at the chance to get experimental brain surgery just for a chance at answers.

It's hard to say, but I'm pretty sure it's at least partially mockery.

The cooking augment is basically an insult, yeah.

Besides giving us these skills, you mean?

[I RECOGNIZE THAT LOOK]

... Yes, to fly the ships. But only within a certain range of the Marsiva, so it's functionally even more useless than cooking.

And I'm still an accomplished mage, no matter what augment they gave me, so wipe that look off your face.
