[ The video starts, but it would be easy to assume at first that the young man featured in it was still asleep. He's got a grey beanie shoved over his eyes in a manner that was definitely intentional. But after a long moment, he groans and sits up, pulling the beanie up so he can see what he's doing. ]

...Ugh. Where...

[ He does notice the camera after a moment, and he freezes. It's with an entirely unhappy scowl that he turns away after a moment, looking around. ]

What the hell is this?

[ He didn't ask for this, and he definitely doesn't seem impressed to be the latest member of intergalactic reality television. ]

Then perhaps now is the time to think about it.

[ He finds himself a seat on another bed. ]

Um...

[ He sits on his bed awkwardly, looking around. ]

...Okay?

[ He chuckles. ]

Come now. Put away the word relaxing for a while. What do you like to do?

[ Some of the tension leaves his shoulders at that. ]

...I like cooking. There... was a dog back home, I like walking him.

[ His expression softens. ]

I didn't know you had a dog.

[ His eyes light up, and a smile plays on his lips. ]

He wasn't really my dog. He lived in the dorm with everyone. Koromaru. He was a part of our team. We all took turns walking him, but I was always glad when it was my turn. We ended up spending a lot of time together when everyone else was at school.

[ That's so charming. He hides a smile discreetly. ]

I'm sure he was glad in turn.

I hope so. He's a great dog.

Perhaps there's a place on the space station to purchase a pet.

You think so?

[ He wouldn't be Koromaru, but... ]

Well, it would be worth checking out if there is.

It certainly could not hurt.

[ He's still smiling, all tension gone from him. Cute things— especially animals— really are his weakness. ]

[ Well, that killed the mood. Shinjiro sighs, his smile fading as he looks away. ]

[ Even if he doesn't like it. ]

[ Which is probably the closest he'll ever get to an intentional confession, even if he choked on it the last time they met. ]

[ We make quite the pair. ]

Will you ever -- [ He cuts it off. ]

[ He waves it off. ]

Nothing. I was wool-gathering.

That's unusual. I never thought you were the type.

I'm feeling my age lately.

I'm still not actually sure how old that is. You look like a teenager, but I know you're not quite...

[ He gestures expansively. ]

At least I will always have my good looks.

[ It's a good thing that Dune's not privy to Shinjiro's Inner Mind Theater, because there's a lot of strangling down about ten or twenty responses he's actually thinking before he gets one out. As it is, he tugs on his beanie slightly, trying to cover his face just in case he's blushing. (He is.) ]

...Silver linings, huh?

[ Pfft. He's graceful enough not to laugh at that expression. ]
