[ He smiled a bit. ]
Is that a compliment?

They are here in the Fleet...or a version of them is anyway. Hawke, if you have met here.

[ He shook his head. ]
I haven't met many others in the fleet as of yet. Been learning my way around the ship and trying to scrap together some cash on the station. There are only so many days you can wear the same set of underwear, even in the most dire of circumstances.

That much is certain. Then I suggest when you have free time to visit the Space Bar. She is there often. A mutual friend owns it.

[ Can't escape it, Fenris. ]
I'll be sure to stop by then, make sure she knows who sent me her way.

She will no doubt find it highly amusing.
[Assume he's making FRIENDS or something. ]

[ He grins and chuckles, because now he really has to make his way over and introduce himself. ]

[Hawke would love him. ]

As if there are several different versions of her from other dimensions here?
[ It was the most logical guess. ]

[This is SO weird, okay.]
The Hawke I know back home is a man, angry and abrasive to all he meets. The one I met in Exsilium, and the one who is currently aboard the Fleet is a woman, finds mirth in everything and is a mage. Previously we had another male Hawke here who was different again.
They are all Hawke, but they are...of different paths, it seems. It is rather strange and disconcerting.

[ Luckily for you, Fenris, he knows exactly what you're talking about. ]
Oh, I get it. I've dealt with two Spocks before - my second in command, that is. A younger version who grew up on my path, and an older version who had traveled one of his own, but somehow ended up in mine.
[ Rivers, paths, it was the same analogy more or less. ]
And yes, it is very strange and very disconcerting I have to agree.

I have not met anyone else who has experienced such a thing. It is almost comforting to know my world is not the only one that has this level of confusion.
...That said, I was only aware of it when I left my world. I have never known two Hawkes back home.

I think mine might be a kind of special case. I'm not very sure. All I know is that two Spocks now exist, but thankfully they keep pretty far apart. One serves on my crew and the other helps lead the Vulcans in recolonization. Confusion is thus avoided via light years of distance between the two.
And it saves me a headache. Which is all the reason I really need.

Well, no I really do have to go meet them. They sound like my kind of guy - or girl.

[ He chuckled and got up. ]
Well, it's been nice talking to you Fenris. If you'll excuse me, I have a visit to a bar to go plan.

I will see you soon, no doubt.
