The Way to a Blue Fish's Heart...
Who: Blue Fish crew and visitors
Broadcast: Maybe some accidental, but not overall
Action: The Blue Fish kitchen
When: All Day, Feb. 7
[It had been a rough month for a lot of the Blue Fish crew. From blenders to family members and lost friends and blocked credits, they'd been soldiering on through a lot. And while Jilly was new enough to have skirted by most of the drama, she was keenly aware of the underlying stress of her crewmates. She wants to help.
Sometimes, though, words aren't enough...and so she sets about taking advantage of her augment to the best of her ability. For the past month she's been collecting recipes from the datary and experimenting with the supplies provided by the Atroma. And, in the days leading up to the 7th, she quietly recruits Beverly for a pair of extra hands with some Station grocery shopping and behind-the-scenes planning.
It's not announced, but on such a small ship it's hard to miss that something is going on that day. Forgoing her usual trip to the Station for job hunting and people watching, Jilly gets up extra early and sets the kitchen in motion. Recipes are taped up on the cabinets, ingredients are gathered, and so begins a marathon of food.]

[Between the combined forces of Jilly and Beverly, the two "cooks" for the Blue Fish will be setting out food all day as a bit of a much needed holiday for their crew (and any visitors who stop by). Volunteer as a taste-tester, grab food on the run, help clean dishes between baking bouts, or simply sit and relax with your crew mates. Food therapy is a go.]

aguri is a pure being of joy and light, how dare you
You don't. [ blunt as hell ]
jfc that thing is a demon
I'm thrilled.
[ do you feel
how thrilled he is
truly ]
It's been a great week.
[ of lingering in his room and not talking to anybody it's been great tbh ]
there's no accounting for bad taste
I'm surprised they didn't arrange some kind of chamber of solitude for you instead if this party was motivated by your week in particular. [ He's learning about you so fast, bro. ]

[ otherwise it wouldn't have happened, in all fairness. his friends know him too well to force him to do that. and he's pretty sure it was organized by jilly, who doesn't know him very well.
... which might explain why it happened at all. but. whatever. ]
Have you eaten anything yet?
no subject
Not from here. Most of it...
It doesn't suit me, really.
no subject
I'll never understand why cupcakes don't suit you.
[ because he's definitely warming his own cupcake with his hands to make it gooey and taking a bite out of it, because he can. ]

nah ]
I guess.
[ pause, and zuko takes another bite of the cupcake ]
Sokka and Katara have been trying to force me to eat whale blubber for years.
[ literal fucking years sasuke LITERAL FUCKING YEARS ]
no subject
That's revolting. What possible benefits would that have? [ Are you suffering from an intense lipid shortage or something, DAMN SON. ]
... you didn't eat it, did you?
no subject
[ ONCE ]
I got my revenge when they went to the Fire Nation and couldn't handle spicy food.
[ which is weird af to him, water tribe folks are weird ]
no subject
That includes the one about his dead family, the one about his missing arm, and the one in which he first met him. ]
I see. [ ... ] I suppose you survived...
no subject
[ zuko supposes he should've explained that first ]
It's a delicacy, to the Water Tribes.
[ also they were nice enough to feed him ]
And I did survive.

It's ice, and snow. Katara and Sokka are from the south pole. And they eat fish, too.
[ he guesses ]
But I guess blubber is good. To them.
[ zuko doesn't know okay he's adopted ]
no subject
Is that what you're saying? [ Jesus wept. ]
no subject
It's not raw! They cook it!
[ JESUS ]
I'm saying it's a food source in an area that might not have a lot of food, or something, I don't know, I don't live there.
[ wtf is actually wrong with you why did he even adopt you again ]
no subject
So they should eat the whale meat, not boil off sections of its fat separately and eat that on its own.
no subject
[ THINGS I LITERALLY NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD WRITE IN A TAG ]
You're being ridiculous, you don't even have to eat it.
[ good lord ]
Besides, I'm sure there's stuff you like that they'd think was gross. Not everyone likes tomatoes.
no subject
Don't tell people that I like tomatoes.
no subject
What's wrong with liking tomatoes?
no subject
... I don't want attention over it, or jokes, or to receive gifts.
no subject
Why would anyone make fun of you for liking tomatoes?
[ that makes no sense bro you're being oversensitive again ]
