[Aww everyone look at this cute hippie girl with her sweet southern drawl not having a mental breakdown like the last time most of you would have seen her. She's also got a more festive get up on: a shiny gold bodice fits over her flowing black dress, bright purple and green scarves drape around her shoulders, and a jaunty top hat sits on her head. Grinning from ear to ear, she addresses the fleet:]

Hey y'all this is Misty! I don't know how much or what folks here know about Earth holidays and all that, but today's a big one where I come from: Mardi Gras. It's like... this big feast day right before a period of fastin' in preparation for Easter. It won't be the same without the parades and the costumes and the food - ain't got no gumbo in space apparently - but I found this sweet club called that plays some pretty good jazz and I sure would appreciate some company if y'all are interested in a little fun!

[After giving the location of the club and what time she'll meet you there, she picks up a glass full of what looks like beer and tilts it in the direction of her audience.]

[That so? Shame that she chickened out on showing up for this herself, but Remy understood why. Rogue did not do crowds, for obvious reasons.] Yeah, she good people.

Ya know, she brought me m' first drink when I first got to the previous place we got stuck together in.

You known each other a long time then?

[That's a nice thought, that maybe the friends she makes here will be for the long haul.]

We from the same world but weren't really friends there, [It was said with a touch of a smile as Remy certainly understated the fact.] But got closer with our time in the last place. Been over a year there for me but she had been there for longer, for years. Kinda glad to have a friendly face when I showed up here, even if it meant she got stuck here as well. [Although like him, Remy was sure Rogue wasn't that keen to head back home. Maybe she never would be, she would lose a lot in doing so.]

You're lucky, to have that.

Took work, 'nd time, 'nd a bit of pain to get there, but it manageable, for everyone. [That last part in particular aimed at her.] Does take a bit of a leap of faith at times, a risk of gettin' hurt, 'nd when it goes wrong it does hurt but... glad I did it 'cause it's been well worth it.

It just like everything in life chere, just gotta read the cards right to know if ya wanna play the hand ya got 'nd gamble ya come out on top, or fold.

From what I've seen, the people here are worth gamblin' on.

For the most. [There was at least one Remy could argue against being worth... anything really, but that was hardly something to share with her right now. Not on such a celebration.

Talking of which.] Ya know, may not be able to do a lot as would at home, but do know something we should do for the day considerin' where we be. I hope ya like dancin', haven't found many 'round here yet to take me up on such an offer.

[And oh how she lights up at that!]

[Already she's on her feet and taking him by the hand to pull him out on the dance floor. No need to ask her twice!]

[Now that was the reaction he wanted. It had been awhile since he's gotten the chance to dance with someone, and Remy loved to do so. There was just something about the mix of the beat of the music and freedom of movement that was so good. Letting her pull him along, once they hit the dance floor Remy gave her hand a light tug to pull her back towards him. It wasn't a tight grip, not pulling her against him or anything, just close enough to be dancing together rather than by themselves, so not to impede on her style of dancing. It was Mardi Gras, it was all about fun.]
