[ The video feed turns on to show a red-headed teenage girl just kind of. Sitting up in one of the hospitality deck cots. Her eyes are open, but she's not moving at all. Even breathing, if you're observant enough to notice that sort of thing.

That's because she's still in the process of booting up. A robot like Penny isn't meant to be hard shut-down unless she's getting tuned up, so the process takes a bit. The self-diagnostics don't know what's going on - how is the body fine when it clearly shouldn't be?

Still, after a few moments she does come online.

That's when she seems to snap awake, her eyes widening. ] What- [ She scrambles backwards, falling off of the cot, dragging the sheets with her. She lands with an audible THUD that might suggest she's heavier than her size would indicate.

Eloquent first impression.

Penny peeks up from behind the cot, glancing around, a confused expression on her face. Her databanks don't know where this place is, nor can it even place the architecture. And her sensors pick up SPACE from behind those windows to the side. ] Where is this? [ She's been repaired, but by who? And... HOW? And brought here...?

Is she....? No, this is far too real.

Penny picks herself up, taking another look around. ]

Hello? Is anybody there?

[ Okay, now THAT isn't right. Before was a mild inconsistency, but this one is sending up several red flags. ]

That doesn't make sense. The doubles round has been over. And Yang has already competed in the singles round. She has most definitely not gone missing, and I'm quite certain I would have heard if you had as well.

[ She might be ignoring Blake's actual question since this is more concerning. ]

... Weiss was here, too. We were told about that part, because she came and left before we ever saw her. And we never noticed her missing, back at Beacon.

Something strange is going on, but that can wait for right now. Are you all right?

[ Okay, no dancing around this answer. ] Yes! Everything is - [ "in working order" she was about to say, but stops herself ] - peachy. [ Peachy. Perfect, Penny. ]

Which is rather nice of our abductors.

Can you tell me what happened?

[She's not going to call any abductors 'nice'. And she has no idea what's going on with Penny right now, anyway.]

[ Penny is silent for a moment. She doesn't really want to think about that. She's a robot - when she recalls it, it's in vivid high definition.

But she doesn't see any reason to hold it back, either. ]

I was... paired against Pyrrha Nikos in the singles round. You know her, yes?

Were you aware that her semblance is magnetism?

[At this point, Blake can't help but have a dramatic flashback to the food fight, wherein Pyrrha took her out by throwing an endless stream of explosive soda cans at her.

She still side-eyes those vending machines whenever she walks past them, after that.]

I was, yes. She's a very strong opponent, but I didn't think she was the type to tear someone apart.

[She's assuming it's metaphorical, then. A sound defeat, which... makes sense. Blake knows just how untouchable Pyrrha seems to be.]

And you are aware that I control my swords through wires?

At the end of the match, Pyrrha used her semblance to push my swords away. My wires, they wrapped around me...

[ As she replays this part in her head, she clutches her left arm with her right, and her midsection with her left.

It's not that it was "fresh" in her memories. She would always remember it this vividly. Whether it had been moments ago or years.

Penny stops. ]

[ More quietly. ]

I think I'm done talking about this. [ Penny has a limit, this is it. ]

... I wasn't aware that it was wires... I thought you had a Semblance similar to her.

[She goes quiet, though. She can tell it's a harsh memory, and she won't pry. She can tell it's a bad memory, and... If Pyrrha thought the same way that she did, that it was her Semblance rather than wires... She can see where that would turn into an accident. And... Whatever happened, Penny doesn't want to talk about it. She'll respect that.]

Sorry. I won't say any more.

Ruby isn't here here, but Yang is, if you want to speak with her, too. I don't know if anyone else from our world is here.

[ Thanks, Blake, ur a bro.

Penny was just about to ask about Ruby, since Blake had mentioned Yang and Weiss, but Blake beat her to it. ] Oh... [ She can't keep the disappointment from her voice at that. Not that Blake and Yang being around isn't great, because it is, but... Ruby.

Okay, chin up Penny. You're in one piece, which is better than can be expected, and you're not alone. These are Good Things. ]

I would very much like to see the two of you. Can we meet somewhere?

Not yet. You can't leave the Marsiva until you're moved to a ship. But, once you've moved, we can meet up, either on one of our ships or the station.

[ That is disappointing. But Penny is a survivor. ~~No she isn't.~~ ]

Got it. Then once I leave the Marsiva, we can all meet! We can catch up, and you can tell me what it's like to live in space.

....But when does that happen?

[She gives a faint smile.]

I'd like that. But there's not much to do, living in space.

It should be less than a week. For Yang and I, it was a few days.

That doesn't sound right. There isn't a lot to do? Out in space? Are you entirely sure about that?

I'm sure. They've taken away our weapons, and there are no Grimm up here, anyway. I've been getting by on books I can find around, but...

[ Penny had realized she was without her swords during her boot-up diagnostics, but she had also half-expected that since... well.

Still, none of them had weapons? She supposed for their intended purpose they wouldn't need them, especially without any Grimm, but... still concerning. ]

We can always brush up on our hand-to-hand. That should provide adequate defense and something to do!

I'm not sure I want to practice hand-to-hand with my opponent being Yang.

[That's Yang's specialty, after all, and Blake has seen what she can do with those fists.]

That is a good point. She is very good at punching things. [ And the Fleet couldn't take that away, could it? Guess it's much harder to disarm somebody who fights with arms. ]

Maybe I can practice with you, then. Once I am off of this ship.

[As weird as Penny is, Blake can see why Ruby likes this girl.]

She is.

I'd like that. There's a gym on the Iskaulit we can use.

[ You mean besides Penny's magnetic personality? ~~Or ]~~

The Iskaulit is... another ship? Is that the ship you are on?

[get out]

No. The ship I'm on is...

[... god, she can barely even make herself say it.]

It's called the "Wonderduck". And Yang is on the "Bishop". The Iskaulit is a separate ship no one stays on, but there's establishments there.

[ Penny can see Blake's hesitation there, and tries to make her feel better about it. ] Oh! The Wonderduck! [ She claps her hands together. ] That's a very nice ship name! It's very... creative!

[ You're welcome. ]

[this is my life now. i am officially weird enough that penny of all people is trying to comfort me about it. the weird-ass 'salutations' girl is trying to make me feel better about how dumb this is. why is this my life now.]

[ Moving on from the... Wonderduck. ]

I'm surprised that you and Yang do not share a ship. You're partners, right?

Are you getting along?

Of course we are. But the ships are all at full capacity, and it doesn't seem like they have the resources to handle extra people.
