[ The video feed turns on to show a red-headed teenage girl just kind of. Sitting up in one of the hospitality deck cots. Her eyes are open, but she's not moving at all. Even breathing, if you're observant enough to notice that sort of thing.

That's because she's still in the process of booting up. A robot like Penny isn't meant to be hard shut-down unless she's getting tuned up, so the process takes a bit. The self-diagnostics don't know what's going on - how is the body fine when it clearly shouldn't be?

Still, after a few moments she does come online.

That's when she seems to snap awake, her eyes widening. ] What- [ She scrambles backwards, falling off of the cot, dragging the sheets with her. She lands with an audible THUD that might suggest she's heavier than her size would indicate.

Eloquent first impression.

Penny peeks up from behind the cot, glancing around, a confused expression on her face. Her databanks don't know where this place is, nor can it even place the architecture. And her sensors pick up SPACE from behind those windows to the side. ] Where is this? [ She's been repaired, but by who? And... HOW? And brought here...?

Is she....? No, this is far too real.

Penny picks herself up, taking another look around. ]

Hello? Is anybody there?

[She clears her throat, trying to sound polite and nonchalant.]

Yeah, that all sounds about right. The ships all seem to be pretty crowded at this point, so it's not really possible to do any kind of transfers right now. But about the tournament... I'm guessing you are coming from a bit further on into the Vityl Festival?

[And yeah, she's just going to ignore that last comment. ;P]

[ Penny remembers her last moments in the tournament at Yang's mention of it. ]

[ ...but puts on a smile a moment later. ]

Yes, that's correct. You.... did very well in your singles round. [ That's. TECHNICALLY not a lie.

She hiccups anyway.

She doesn't bring up how she did herself. ]

[If Yang picks up on that shift, she doesn't show it.]

No spoilers. There's no fun in finding out the ending ahead of time.

[It's possible there's more to Yang's words than simply not wanting to have her singles round spoiled for her. Though, it's up to Penny to discern what Yang's real intentions are.]

If that is what you want, then I am more than happy to oblige.

[ Don't ask Penny to look into hidden meanings. She is Penny.

And since she doesn't have to lie, no more hiccups! ]

How have you been? Have you adjusted to life in space yet? Is it different? Is it enjoyable?

[Yang shrugs.]

I guess I have? I haven't exactly been here for all that long yet, so it's hard to say at this point. I guess it's not all that much different from normal? I mean, more confined spacing and all aside, it's all pretty exciting. I mean, whoever thought anyone from Remnant would one day be in space, right?

[combatready]

Is it really that confined? This ship seems very spacious. It is not too different from an Atlas airship.

But you're right, I doubt anybody back home would believe we were truly in space. Even if this does resemble one of our airships, they do not go into space.

[onlyburnhotter]

Well, the one you are on is definitely the biggest in the fleet. But even then, it's confined compared to Beacon.

Yeah, I don't expect anyone back home will buy this story. Even if you, Blake and me all told them it was true.

Well, I am sure that Ruby would believe you. [ Not "us," Penny can't count herself there. ]

[Yang giggles a little at that.]

Yeah, she probably would. Especially if you were saying the same thing.

[ HRNGH. Glances to the side, away from the camera.

Doesn't respond. ]

[Okay, yeah, Yang definitely noticed that. Naturally, she gives Penny a confused look.]

Penny? What's wrong?

[Had something happened between her and Ruby? Last Yang had checked, they were totally friendly terms with one another.]

I... believe you said that you don't want to know what happens. Correct?

So I'm [ hic ] fine.

[onlyburnhotter]

Well, I mean, I do. As far as like, my future is concerned. But, I mean, if something's bothering you and I can help... What I'm saying is there are exceptions to what I said earlier.

[combatready]

I don't think there is anything you can do to help. I'm just... unsure if I will be able to go back.

[onlyburnhotter]

[Well jeez, that doesn't sound ominous AT ALL. Still, Yang knows better than to pry too deeply into anything that people don't want to talk about.]

Well, if you're sure that there's nothing I can really do to help... I mean, at least for the time being, you've bot me and Blake here with you. And we're not exactly going anywhere anytime soon either.

[She is trying... for the life of her, she's trying...]
