MEANWHILE...

[He's a Canadian Bub and he just woke up on the Marsiva. With all the shit that he'd been dealing with lately trying to track down Romulus and deal with his demented son, he might have handled this whole being in space thing a whole lot worse. Instead the feed opens with Logan standing in front of the viewing bay with his hands in his pockets and a less than pleased expression written in his features.]

Damn. Space again.

[It wasn't like he went into space all the time, but he didn't especially enjoy it. He could be seen tapping the glass gently with the business end of one metal claw protruding from his wrist. Well, he sure as hell hoped there was someone around who was a better pilot in zero atmosphere than he was. Besides, at least he couldn't see Galactus out there.

Later when the feed cuts off, Logan will try getting past the visitor's area of the Marsiva by trying to cut a path through one of the walls with his claws. Unfortunately besides making some very unpleasant sounds, he doesn't seem to succeed in cutting his way through. Too bad.]

[Eh? It's only now he even notices there's even a comm device. He picks it up, gives it a suspicious once over, and immediately recognizes who is on the other side. The haircut is a little different, but he knows her when he sees her.]

You too, huh? [Well, he's pleased to see her. Among those he knows he can trust and rely on, Kitty is pretty high on the list.]

[The recognition makes her smile softly.]

Me too. A little over a week ago.

[There's a lot to explain, but she just wants to be happy to see him for a minute.]

Good. So maybe you can catch me up.

[He's not big on happy reunions or anything, besides it's not like he hasn't talked to her recently anyway. Even on his wildest off the grid missions, it's not like he doesn't have a cell phone.]

We've been taken by the Atroma who never show themselves to star in a reality show where you're paid for how entertaining you are. You'll be shuffled onto one of the ships in the fleet and given a position based on whatever information they upload to you through the augment that's been implanted in the back of your neck. Trying to remove it is supposed to take whatever your top level of pain tolerance is and kick it up from there.

[It's a lot and with anyone else she's be going slower and letting them process and breaking down parts they might not understand, but this is Logan even if she doesn't really have any idea what that means for him.]

[He touches the back of his neck and sure enough, there it is. He considers for a moment trying to remove it, but her warning gives him pause. He'll do it sometime when he's not alone.]

... shit, this ain't some Mojoverse is it?

[Not that he would begrudge a good cage fight, but he really just had too much shit going on to deal with this level of reality television bullshit that Mojo liked to put them up to.]

Mojo...? [Right.] This is probably also the time to tell you I'm not the version of Kitty you know. They pull people in from alternate realities. Also different planets and time periods.

[She's still glad to see you though.]

My Logan's missing a hand.

[He sits on that knowledge a fair bit. This isn't all that groundbreaking of news. Hell, once it was even Kitty herself who was sent back in time from a dystopian future ruled by Sentinels - a future from which Rachel Summers even traveled back from. She wasn't the only member of the X-Men to hail from some other timeline or universe.

He pinches the ridge of his nose between his eyes and lets loose a sigh.]

Well ain't that a kick in the pants. My whole hand, huh? Usually it comes back.

[Smirking a bit.] You really shouldn't make a habit of losing them so you can know things like that.

[Though it does make it wonder why her Logan's didn't? Maybe that cap he put on it was a really bad idea? Maybe something about what the optic blast did to the tissue? It doesn't really matter now.]

Losin' things just happens to be one of those things I'm best at. [Which as long as he doesn't dwell on that sad fact, then it's just a meaningless comment.] Shame, though. If ya've been training with a me with only one arm, ya must only be half a badass as my own Kitty, eh?

[Or not. Hell, he's just fishing to see what she has to say about that.]

[That first comment is the story of her life. Crochet it on a pillow, it's done. So, it definitely seems sad and a bit heavy to her, but then he has to go and challenge her.]

You're welcome to see for yourself. They did take my claws at arrival though. [What? She can't be the only Kitty who fights with strap-on claws, right?]

Claws, huh? [Now that's gotta be a sight to see.] Ain't anyone got any originality left?

[In the last year or two he's had to deal with finding out about both X-23 and Daken, never mind all those that have come before them.

And now Kitty is strapping on claws too. Jesus wept.]

It's not like the whole team wears them. And it was your idea. [Pause.] It was his idea.

And then Magneto made the originals.

[You know, after M-Day and all that's gone on...

The name Magneto doesn't even rile him up that much anymore.]

Does seem like somethin' I'd do. Shame ya ain't got them, though. There ain't no takin' mine.

[Even if they took the metal... these claws are a package deal.]

[She hadn't been thinking when she dropped Magneto's name, but it does click that he doesn't react to it. That sort of makes her feel better. Relieved. She's so used to people jumping in with how he's the worst. She may not agree with every call he makes, but he's still the one who brought them all together at least where she's from.]

You know it's not like my actual powers suck, and I can fight with anything. [Just herself even.] But I was actually thinking of rebuilding them. I did it a couple of times in the prison.

...I was in an prison for about a year before they brought me here. Same kind of deal. No reality show or space ships, but a sudden abduction and inability to leave.

[Different Kitty or not, there's enough papa bear instinct in him to find reason to scowl at the notion of her having to spend a year in a prison cell. Logan has spent plenty of time himself in situations like that. But he was built to survive that, with the years extra to keep on living.]

Who was it that did it to ya?

[Are you being protective? That's really... She doesn't even know what to do with that, but she likes it.]

We never figured that part out. AI wardens ran it and engineers built them, but I think it went higher than that. I was leading a team of inmates to try and find a way to overthrow things. But now I'm here.

[It's actually the prison she misses instead of home.]

[AI Wardens. Go figure. Why it always AIs that seem to manage to find a way to screw them over?]

Any chance there's a connection?

To this place? I've wondered that. Back there I'd heard a couple of other people were from similar places and I was almost sure they were connected. They even mentioned some of the same things like a dome around the place. [She tilts her head.] It wasn't a normal prison.

And here lots of people have places they'd been to before but more differences than similarities. I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe.

[So, this is one of many places. And people keep getting shuffled between them. Not a comforting notion, but not the strangest thing he's heard. Don't mind him as he starts to shuffle around the visitor's area. He's hoping to at least find some coffee.]

So it looks like there's some of the team here. Ain't from my 'verse, but it'll do. Where do I meet up with ya?

[She's pleased he wants to meet up with her and maaaaaaybe even a little secretly pleased that he's not from their world. She was feeling a little odd-man out. Even if it has been great to see them all.] You won't be able to until they send you out to a ship. I'm on the Windrose. But then I can either get to your ship or we can meet at the space station if we're still docked there.

Well ain't that just a bitch. What am I s'posed to do 'til then?

[This visitor's bay wasn't exactly the height of entertainment.]

I was only on the Marsiva for about a day before they pulled me out. I think for some people it's closer to a week. So, I don't know. Mess with people on the network? [Fun for the whole family?] Apparently downtime is a big thing here. [And she's not good at it either.]

Never was much good at downtime. [He huffs, because while he could probably use a good rest and some time away from the field, he's simply not ready for it. He might have worked out a lot of his past and dealt with it, but he ain't yet close to making peace with all he's learned since M-Day. Not by a long shot.]

What kind of people we dealing with here? Them locked up with us.

You're not alone. [She's always preferred to keep busy. She didn't necessarily mind fun downtime, but she needs goals to be working toward. And too much time to think turns into too much time to miss things that she's never getting back.]

A mix. Some people have powers. Some don't. Aliens. People from the time of blacksmiths.

Everyone I've talked to has been friendly. [Some of them were guarded or on edge about arrival, but no threats or attacks.] I also recognize some of them from the prison, but no one has remembered me from there.

[So medieval fair, aliens, superheroes, and civilians. That's a hell of a mix - kinda sounds like home.]

Don't remember you? How's that? You ain't that forgettable. [he means that in a very fond way probably.]
