[It's been good to get some time away from the ship, taking whatever piloting and cargo jobs that she could get. Still, Furiosa makes it a point to be around at least some of the time in case her crew needs her. She continues to sleep on the bridge, comfortable enough in the captain's chair, and her little plant has been restored to the dashboard now that Max was feeling better.]

[She hadn't forgotten about her talk with Nova back over the ice planet, though, and she'd been thinking a lot about who she should have as second in command; things here may not be so dire as to necessarily be warranted, but she'd rather be prepared in a pinch if she was again rendered incapable by illness or some other means.]

[She opens a video feed closed to the members of the First Breath;]

Furiosa here, with an announcement as your Captain; I've made the decision to appoint Nova as my First Mate. If for any reason I am unable to do my duties, she's in command.

[A pause, a wry smile and a soft chuckle.] Not that we'll really need it here.

[ a few moments after the announcement is made, Nova slides into the bridge ]

Wait, what?

[ she's not angry— just genuinely surprised ]

I trust you the most and you're reliable. You haven't transferred ships yet or left completely, which helps.

[She's settled back in her chair, feeling at ease for once in a way she's never quite had the luxury of feeling.] You don't mind?

I— No, I don't mind.

I guess I'm just... surprised.

[ she really doesn't know what to make of it ]

[Furiosa shrugs.] I doubt it's going to mean that big of a difference.

[The nature of this place being what it is.] Have you been to the station much?

I know.

[ but she's going to let it drop ]

A little. I've been running some stuff for extra credits. You?

Same. I'e been stocking up on rations and foodstuffs as well, for the ship, in case anyone else isn't as lucky.

[takeabow]

That's thoughtful of you. Do you think it'll be an issue?

[kill_switch]

It's hard to tell, but my world wasn't the kind you could stock up so easily. Maybe it's instinct, but I want to be well supplied in case the worse happens and we end up entirely on our own. Better to have a head start than be needing the basics right off the start.

[It's all puppies and rainbows over here.]

Yeah... I might have one or two secret stashes somewhere.

[She looks over At Nova, impressed.] That's a good thing to have. Keep them hidden.

[She gives a wry, dark chuckle. The things their worlds do to them.] I can get that. Your world wasn't exactly rife with resources, was it?
