Log 002 | Video + Action - Can't Kick Those Old Habits

[ Video ]

Okay, so I think I have the money situation figured out here.

We get money by being popular on this "show" and being "ranked" -

[ Can everyone hear his continued disbelief of this load of crap they are being fed, but fine he's playing along for the time being. ]

But we can also get it on the station by offering to do work. Am I right? Which, by the way, just seems like it's adding insult to injury.

So aside from my making a cardboard sign and tacking it up in the space station, I'll set it out here too - I'm generally good with technology and fixing things in general, so if you ever need anything fixed I'm more than happy to get whatever it is you need running again for a fair price.

And if anyone has a recommendation on someplace to get good, cheap clothes on this station, I'd appreciate it. And real food.

[ He can only live so long between his uniform and the gray jumpsuit and replicated food items. That buffet on the Blue Fish ruined him to early. There are limits. ]

[ Action ]

[ As he said, he made his way down to the space station to see if he can drum up some business and start earning some cash. He hates being a free loader or being put on charity - he just hates being non-useful in general and he's terrible at sitting around and doing nothing. Besides, job hunting might also come with info hunting, so it's two birds with one stone in a sense. So off to find a job and some food that hasn't been replicated. It never tasted the same, no matter how much the product might say otherwise.

One really should not be surprised to see him chatting someone up, male, female, green, tailed, scaled ,or otherwise. It might be equally common for him to be getting slapped, and there's about a 65% chance of catching him in the midst of a bar fight if you find him later in the evening, or leaving in the company of someone. He did mention he had a reputation to keep up, and everyone needed some outlet for dealing with their situation. This was his.

He will try not to look to chagrinned making his way back to the ships come the morning though... ]

[ ooc: feel free to hit him up anywhere on the station as he will literally be going around every inch of it. And by all means, be the one being hit on, or just interrupt his night/morning because he's made poor life choices somewhere along the way! ]

[She manages not to take "the love interest" as seriously as she did the casual "date" term that was thrown out earlier. She just smirks back.] I don't know. Is the audience going to be into your occasional problems? My life is really fascinating. But maybe. Let's hear some sassy advice.

Wow, there are a lot of rules to do this. Should I get a notepad? [Yes, she still thinks in terms of paper products.]

So you're also like personal assistants? So many things I didn't realize. It does explain all the montage sequences though.

Sure. Hey, and if I'm sad I just need one good shot of me staring out a window into the rain and then life can move on. Then again I'm probably the protagonist of a sci-fi horror movie so I'm not sure any of this counts.

Fewer than you'd think. [But that's the real answer that evokes just how busy and painful life could be. How dangerous it was to stop and consider it all. It's not the fun, pretendy answer of what he's building here.] But I guess you have to keep the audience on the hook. [Trying harder, but it does make her curious.]

Do you think about them much? The audience?

Agreed. I was surprised to learn some people do things just for their benefit or at least for the benefit of earning extra money. [A practical concern that's never been a reality in her life. Earth used currency when she was a child, but her parents handled the money. And then civilization fell and people stopped giving it the agreed upon meaning it once had. Then came the prison where everything was free and there was no payment for anything. She's not unaware of its significance, but it doesn't mean much to her.]

[Still surprised her, but she takes his point.] I suppose so. I did pick up a job here so I could upgrade the food situation. Seems more like a distraction than anything else though.

Mysterious overlords plan these things well. I really should have gotten into the mysterious overlord business instead of taking dance classes as a kid.
