[Belthazar is usually much more careful about what he broadcasts, but this time he doesn't care. He's in the grips of a tantrum the likes of which haven't been seen for a very long time. He's a blackish blur off the edge of the screen, ripping things off his walls and throwing furniture like it's going out of style. He's screaming but not out of any particular physical injury; it's that of sadness and anger and desperation.

He hurls a chair at the other wall and it sounds like a bone breaking. Probably a 7/10. Passable work.]

He's gone! Why is he gone!? BRING HIM BACK!!

[He's a mess of hair and glowing green eyes and rage. He slams his fist on the table just in case that last bit wasn't clear enough.]

Do you hear me, Atroma?! [His voice cracks mid-yell thanks elf puberty.] I will hunt you down! I'll dismantle you piece by piece! I'll wipe you from EXISTENCE! I'll-- I'll--

[His eyes well up and he cuts off the feed, presumably to hurl more things at the wall until he feels better.]

... Yeah. Well... She's a teammate. We're not related by blood, or even from the same world, but I love her like a sister all the same.

She was here for a while. Her name was "Rainbow Lark", or sometimes, "Riley Matthews". Did you ever meet her?

Adra and I aren't related, either. He pulled me in off the streets.

[He sniffs.]

I didn't get the chance to meet her. I, ah... I don't get out much. [She probably knew that, though.]

... No room to talk there. I was a total shut-in until the day I died. A pretty significant amount of time afterwards, too, if I'm being honest.

Still... I understand how you feel. And I won't tell you not to be angry, because I fully intend to burn all of my magic on the Atroma, hurt them as badly as I can, as soon as I can get them in my range. But smashing things won't help, it will only ruin your stuff. It won't even really help you feel better.

I... I was, too. I was so focused on training my magic, I pushed aside everything else. [That's why he has such a hard time with people. And why he still threatens to set them on fire.

At the very least, he's not throwing things anymore. He's just sitting in the mess and feeling like he wants to cry and sleep at the same time.]

I didn't really break anything. [A pause.] ... Except a chair. If I really wanted to destroy everything, I could, but that would be a waste of mana. I might need it.

... You died?

... Same here. My training, my studying... A lot of it was forced on me, but I still allowed it to exclude almost everything else from my life.

That's the way. [She tries to sound encouraging, here.] If you keep your MP topped off, that's more you can use when we finally do get to the Atroma.

[... but, then she looks a little sheepish.]

If... we're keeping count, then several times, actually, but one of them was a little more... final. But that's not a story I'm going to discuss over the communicators. That offer for tea is still open, though.

[No idea what MP is but he gets the gist.

He can tell she's not comfortable with talking about it over the line, and that's fine. Dying isn't the sort of experience one throws about casually. He's familiar with the concept of resurrection thanks to Exsilium, but he's never experienced it himself.]

Let me-- let me clean up a little, and then I'll be ready.

No problem. I'll have a cup waiting when you get there.

[When he does get there, there's also a fox curled up on her shoulders like a fuzzy scarf, but it's not like that's the weirdest thing that's happened here.]

[Considering he has a fox that followed him back onto the ship, he's not too surprised to see that Nightingale has one. His own just kind of goes where it wants-- particularly because Belthazar has a tendency to reject its affections. (And then put food out for it anyway because he feels bad.)

He takes a seat. His eyes are a little red from crying, but he's washed his face and looks a lot better than one would expect.]

I hope I didn't... scare you earlier. [He toys with the hems of his sleeves.]

[A cup of steaming tea appears from thin air in her hands, and with a wave, it levitates over in front of Belthazar.]

I won't say you didn't startle me, but I wasn't scared. I was more worried for you than anything else.
