He glances down the hallway indicated to him and nods. He can find the free room with minimal snooping -- even the neatest place is a giveaway that someone lives there. ]

[ He does approach Felix to head down the hall, but tilts his chin in that direction as if to say the other man can come along with him if he's willing to talk. ]

Thanks. Are security officers the only ones who can use the weapons? That doesn't seem practical.

[Felix huffs out a laugh] Practical? I daresay practicality is a real concern for our hosts. That said, I imagine anyone here could learn, if they wanted, but your knowledge makes you more adept. In theory.

What is a concern for our hosts? I don't know, as soon as I figure out how weapons here work I could just teach everyone else on the ship.

Ratings, one would assume? [Whatever that means, really]

As I said, only if they wanted to learn. We aren't here to fight a war. Our ship has been attacked, but not us as individuals.

[ Ramse shrugs; it's still a stupid reason to be brought somewhere if you ask him. But nobody did.

As for the weapons, even if he doesn't want to hurt anybody he doesn't feel comfortable unless he's armed either. Old habits. ]

Would you want to learn?

I don't know. I've never been much of a fighter.

[Which isn't a yes, but isn't a no, either. He'd tried and mostly failed at other kinds of weapons training, simply because it had seemed like the better of his limited options. But Paradisa wasn't rife with guns, either.]

Are you? A fighter, that is?

[That, or he's really enthusiastic about his chosen role, which seems unlikely]
