[Luke takes a moment to wonder if showing off is really worth it. This girl doesn't seem like she'll be impressed by much anything, and really, should a Jedi Knight be trying to impress little girls?]

[On the other hand, he's a Skywalker.]

[Luke holds out his hand, and the chair nearest to him twists to face him, moving a few inches toward him so he can sit quietly down.] We do many things. It depends on what the Force calls us to do.

[Now that catches her interest.]

... I see. What you did, just now-- it wasn't airbending. The movement was all wrong. How did you do it?

[Time to pull a classic Yoda.]

[Far from being deterred-- Azula loves a challenge as much as she hates looking stupid.]

But surely chair has no energy. Are you saying you manipulate then the energy around the chair?

[And that, certainly, gets Luke's interest. Good students make good teachers.]

In a sense. The chair is also made of things that were once alive. And I'm alive. Particles in the air teem with life. You're alive.

Well of course I'm alive.

... Are you saying you could move me?

Of course. [Like it's nothing.] But I won't, don't worry.

... I'm not sure I believe you.

... That I can move you, or that I won't?

That you can actually move me.

[Luke sighs, and closes his eyes. He relaxes in his chair and slowly begins to raise his hands. Azula should raise with them, only a few inches off her seat, if the Force is with him today.]

[Azula tries not to let her surprise show on her face, but it's still present in the Force. Even taken by surprise and floating in the air as she is, a part of her mind is still analyzing.]

... Impressive. You have to concentrate to be able to do this? Are there limits on how much you can lift?

[t65]

[Luke lets her down very gently.]

I think I'll have to maintain some mystery. [Also, because the answer 'it depends' is always a bit of a letdown.] But I'm glad you find it interesting. Do you meditate?

Of course. Control of oneself and clarity of mind is of the utmost importance, wouldn't you agree?

Then we can discuss it next time. [He starts to stand.] It's been a while since I had someone to meditate with.

... You want to join me.

For meditation.

Of course! It's always better to do that in company, I think. [Meditation is really not his strong suit, honestly; doing it with someone else keeps him awake.] Unless you have any objections...?

... Well. It's not exactly a group activity, is it?

My old master would have disagreed. [Serenely,] Maybe we can learn something from each other.

[pyroelectric]

Unless you're as bad at meditating as my dear brother, I highly doubt it. It tends to be a fairly straightforward affair.

[None of this "connecting with the universe" bullshit for Azula.]

[t65]

Nothing is straightforward for a Jedi. [Did he just wink- oh my god.] Thank you for the good conversation, Azula. [He turns to leave.]
