[ To say that Ramse is displeased is an understatement. This is the second time he's been yanked from one world to another, and where the first was actually an improvement, this second place is... not. Outerspace. Really. Really?! They don't even have space travel in his time, though he knows that in the past people made it as far as the moon. Nothing like this. His outrage at being taken is the overwhelming thing, though. He was happy in Eudio, where there was food and people he cared for. They told him they were sending him home (something he already had mixed feelings about) and instead he's here. Having to learn a new way of life all over again and excuse me it's being watched?

He's found the armory and the clothes in his bunk room, at least, so now he's dressed and armed. He sits in the cold empty space while he fiddles with the communicator. It turns out to be easy to use, and when he makes a broadcast his voice is deep and grumbly. Someone's sooooo cranky. ]

So let me get this straight, I'm new and might not have understood. We're here... to be entertainment. Not to save the world, not to help with a war, not to do anything productive at all.

It's the year. What happened?

Apocalypse. As in a person's name, not the biblical event.

Were they going to cause one? The biblical event.

There was a massive human genocide going on, so yeah. More or less.

And you were fighting to survive?

To survive and to protect others. [Probably more weight on the last part though.]

There aren't many people left when I'm from.

What happened?

A plague. It's killed 98% of the world and it's still mutating. We had one shot at a vaccine and... somebody destroyed it.

Did that someone want to wipe out the population? [Stranger things have happened.]

No, they want to reset the timeline so that the plague never happened. It all came down to who you believed in.

[Funny you should mention resetting the timeline... That was kind of her last mission back home.] Oh...

Did that seem possible?

I thought it was. I mean, we've got the machine, we've traveled through time. But... [ he shrugs. they were sort of in the middle of things. ] It got messy.

Time's funny that way.

It sounds like if it did work that could have been a way to save more people. [Maybe trying to justify her own team's actions.]

She killed a lot of people trying to get it to work and the guy we pinned it all on was out of jumps.... it was a mess and I don't agree with her anymore.

So, now you don't have either... [Yeah, nothing defensible about that.]

Yeah. So it was pretty important that I got home, instead of... this place.

Or lucky you got out. [But she understands the need to get back and help under dire circumstances. If she wasn't dead there now, she'd want to go home too.]

No... I've got people there I can't leave. They need me.

[ He's thinking of his son, mostly. He doesn't know how things will work out but he needs to be there for his son. Sam has no one else anymore. ]

Yeah... That's usually the way it goes. They say they send us home eventually. [She's too jaded to believe it.]

They do send people home, though, right? Is there any pattern to it that you can see?

That's what I hear. How would we know for sure though? [She shakes her head.] I've only been here around a month. I'm still trying to figure out who is here. I'm no where close to seeing patterns like that.

Same boat as me, then, I haven't even met all of my own ship. Maybe I'll find someone who's been here longer to ask.

You think they'd send people somewhere else?

There are a few around for sure. [She met a decent amount around the 7 month mark. At least one who was over a year.]

As far as them sending us somewhere else—maybe? On our request? Unlikely.

[ He nods; he'll track them down. ]

Well, instead of home. Sounds like people disappear but we don't know where they go... maybe I'd wind up back in Eudio.
