[ lioriley has been surprisingly absent from the bishop for most of the month. with the crazy amount of temporary jobs she's taken (as well as the more permanent one in the space bar), she's usually out and about the station more than wandering the ship like she normally would be. but, she does manage to stay aboard long enough to leave a gift for each of her crewmates (even the new ones!) in their bunks, along with a short note:

for those she knows:
Dear (name),
Thank you so much for welcoming me so readily aboard the Bishop.
Here is a token of my appreciation, and I apologize for not being able to give you more.
If there is anything you should ever need from me however, do not hesitate to find me.

I am deeply sorry that we have not had the chance to talk yet, but hopefully that can be remedied soon!

ooc: the flowers don't need to be pink pretend they're color coordinated for the person or something.

[ ~~Oh hey, flower petals she and Michiru didn't shed~~ Haruka picks up her bouquet and turns it over before seeing the note. After reading it, she smiles, and picks a flower to stick in the buttonhole of her fancy new jacket.

She will be found around the ship, especially in the pilot's area checking up on things, with said flower on full display. ]

[ lioriley hadn't bothered to pester her crewmates after she had sent the gifts — just assumed they would either accept or decline them on their own and be done with it. in fact, she hadn't even thought about the flowers until she passed haruka in the hallway, her eyes catching the hint of color on her lapel. she smiles. ]

Haruka. [ she says, tilting her head to peer up to the other woman. ] How are you? It has been some time since we last spoke, hm?

Busy times. [ Haruka grins, apparently doing just fine. ] You've settled in.

[ All sending nice gifts and everything. ]

Quite well, if I must say so. I am rather... fond of those aboard this ship. [ a pause, before she quickly adds: ] That is not to say my last ship was bad at all! Though it was certainly... different. Smaller.

Which was it? [ Can't hurt to learn more about crewmates, if they're willing to share. ]

The Paisley. When I had first joined it those months ago, there were only a few of us — it would seem most I knew have left, and the crew has since expanded.

That's one way to put it. [ Said somewhat wryly. Given the current circumstances, it's likely best they're docked. ]

[Oh, this is from the elf lady. He's immediately embarrassed, seeing as he doesn't get gifts often. When Lioriley comes back from her shift, she'll find a handful of rose petal cookies, brushed with his usual edible glitter so they sparkle a bit. And a fancy cursive thank you note.

As for the flowers? He's the cook, so he displays them in the kitchen. That's his workspace after all. He's pretty easy to find now that he's had some time to deal with Adra's absence, cooking and doing chores like it comes naturally to him.]

[ she hadn't expected a return gift! but if the way she smiles like a doofus and glows like the sun while reading the thank you note is any indication, she obviously appreciates it.

she grabs a hold of the cookies and heads out, making her way to the kitchen where she - unsurprisingly - finds just who she's looking for. she stops in the doorway and waits for a break in belth's busywork. ]

Belthazar. [ she chirps happily, ] Do you have a moment?

[He puts down a plate and turns to face her.]

Lioriley? [Maybe she didn't like the cookies.] Is-- is something wrong?

[ YES SHE'S SMILING AND GLOWING BECAUSE SHE HATES THEM. ]

No, of course not. [ she steps closer, ] I had wanted to thank you for the cookies, and had hoped you would take a moment to share some with me.

[His cheeks and nose pinken almost immediately.]

I'm not really doing anything.

[He doesn't quite meet her eyes, he's totally embarrassed.]

I like flowers.

I am glad you enjoyed them. I had hoped I picked colors suitable to your tastes. [ the lines across her cheeks brighten significantly as she moves toward the table, motioning for belthazar to sit with her. she sets the little bag of cookies before them and slowly opens it. ]

Did you make these yourself?

You did. And the message behind them was nice as well. Especially after... earlier this month. [He shakes his head. Adra leaving really hit him hard, that's easy to tell.

He slides onto the bench across from her, his pale fingers barely visible beneath his long sleeves.]

I did. Cooking is... second only to magic, for me. I am happiest when I can practice both freely.

[ she's already spoken to him about adra's departure once before, so she doesn't say anything about it now. instead she nods, silently understanding that it's going to be difficult for him to get over his father leaving, and she certainly gets it.

she offers one of the cookies to him, her leylines bright when he says the word magic. ]

A fondness for magic is something we share, then. [ and taking a cookie of her own, she bites into it. ] You should tell me more of yours — I had not known you were a mage.

[After finding the flowers and note, Jaina's poking her head into the medbay, not entirely certain what to expect. It's a super friendly way to greet a new shipmate, but a random gift of flowers also pings as kind of odd in her perspective.]

Lioriley? I just wanted to stop in and say hello.

[ when jaina arrives, lioriley is engrossed in one of the books she checked out from the station — her communicator propped on her lap as she sits beside one of the medical tables in the bay. the instant the door opens though she immediately looks up. ]

Hello. [ she says with a small smile, setting the device down on the table. ] Come in — I do not believe we have met yet. Are you new?

[She mimes knocking, and takes the invitation to step inside.]

I am. My name's Jaina Solo. Looks like I'll be helping keep the ship from falling apart.

[A hesitation.]

Thanks for the flowers. Do you try getting a welcome gift for everyone who joins up?

'Tis a pleasure, Jaina. [ she bows her head in greeting, chuckling in response to the question. ]

I do. I had hoped it may make the Bishop a bit more welcoming, and to assure my new crewmates that they should not hesitate to come to me if they need something.
