[ The video switches on to reveal— well okay it's an arm, covered in leather, chainmail and white fur, but only because the communicator's taking a moment to get pulled back, and only because there's more than one person trying to use it.

Or more than one elf, with pointed ears and both faces intricately covered in tattoos as the biggest clue. Merrill's markings are as dark as her short, braided hair and Fenris's are as light as his (there might even be a glow). Contrarily, perhaps, she looks much more cheerful in her greeting, but there is still a level of heightened stress to her tone. ]

Yes, hello! It seems we landed in the wrong time. World, actually! Now you promised, since the war's over. Can we speak to somebody in the Initiative? Where are our— Um—

[Merrill doesn't get to finish her sentence, as Fenris wrests control of the communicator from her. He looks decidedly less friendly, in fact, he looks just about ready to punch someone in the face. Hard.]

Our weapons. They are missing. [He jabs an annoyed thumb in Merrill's direction, whose irritated sigh can be heard off-camera.] I understand she likely disrupted the transporter. Just open up another one and send us back to Kirkwall. Now. I have no intention of staying on your blighted moon again. [A pause, a disdainful look around.] Or wherever this is...

[Actually, this looks distinctly non-Initiative. And it's definitely not United Earth, either, he remembers their holding pens, and this is not them. Where the heck ARE they? He doesn't have long to ponder or even let someone answer before there's another sound from Merrill off-camera; a gasp.]

There's something on you! Hold still.

What? What is- NO! Don't you touch me. [He may tolerate you existing in his life now, Merrill, but that doesn't mean you're allowed to touch him with your magey hands. He turns around a couple of times, trying to find...whatever it is on him, his hands tapping around his back until...oh he has a thing on his neck. WHY DOES HE HAVE A THING ON HIS NECK??

His fingers close on it, and he tries to yank it off. If you ever wondered what would happen if you tried to take your Augment off, wonder no more. Fenris gives a pained, frightened yelp, then curls into a horrible, shuddering ball on the floor, muttering horribly in Tevene. He's somewhere in the horrible recesses of his own broken mind right now, don't mind him.

Off-camera: ]

And I'm afraid that I've never heard of any "Initiative". Were you trapped in another strange place before this?

[He gives a grumpy sigh.] We were. We were supposed to go home.

The place that you were trapped in previously, you were able to win your freedom?

Yes. In both cases. We were promised a return to where we belonged. Not this.

[wooooow that really sucks for them :( and it sounds like he really wants to go home. Hnnnnng she pauses for a moment, wracking her mind for some kind of positive spin, or something comforting to say, but this guy seems like he's been through this before. Anything she could offer would probably seem trite]

What was the name of the previous place?

The city was called Exsilium. The group who ran it, however, were the Initiative.

[He gives a shrug.] I do not know if the names would mean anything to you. I did not pay much attention to my fellow captives.

If we had heard it at all in our travels, than maybe but... [she shakes her head]

Wherever we are, we seem to be out of this Initiative's influence.

That is both a comfort and a worry. It is simply moving from the controlling hands of one puppeteer into anothers.

Yes. Hopefully your time won't be dangerous while you're here. While there are many annoyances, I don't believe we've been put in many dangerous situations.

A pity. I find it much less frustrating when I have something I can vent my anger upon.

[It's a warrior thing. Punching stuff makes you feel better.]

I see. Well, then it might be difficult for a time. We spend a lot of time on small space ships, but we stop by planets and stations to break up the monotony.

What are the planets like? Are there monsters on them? Demons?

Not yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if we encountered something like that someday...

It seems the transporter was disrupted during our travel. Do you know how it is they use realm transference here? How they bring us in? I saw no transporters.

It seems that we're transported while we're unconscious. If there is a device that brings us here, it's likely aboard the Marsiva... although we've seen no sign of it.

So it might be here! How handy. We'll have something to do for a few days, then.

It's a very big ship, although when we're on it we can only explore a small portion of it.

[hm, although who knows, there could be tucked away hidden entrances to other locations in the ship]

But be careful while you look. I haven't heard of the people in charge doing anything specifically bad to us, but I don't think they can be trusted if they feel they're in trouble.

I recall how they react in places like this when you snoop. Not in a friendly manner! Do they have guns? Crossbows? Laser beams? Magic?

Nothing that we've seen yet.

But if I had to guess, lasers seem likely.

If they have weapons, then they have an armory. That's likely where our weapons are, if not near the brig. Time to go exploring!
