Who: Nightingale and you!
Broadcast: Video, fleet-wide
Action: Empty room aboard this Iskaulit, if you're looking for her
When: now probably

[The video feed this time just shows a fox poking its nose into the camera, before Nightingale manages to pull it back.]

Hi. So, I understand a lot of people got foxes back on that snow planet from last time. And, the other day, it was brought up to me that it might be a good idea to make a little fox park of sorts on the Iskaulit. A place where the foxes can play with each other, and people who don't have foxes can come try to play with them. I've got a bunch of books from that planet, too, to figure out what foxes need and how to best take care of them.

Problem is, I don't even know where to begin making an area like this on the Iskaulit, so I need help. How to get things like dirt and grass up there, for one, since we'd need a green area like that for them. And we'd probably need things like toys or burrows, so... Anyone who's willing to help make this thing work, I'd like to ask for your assistance. Once our accounts are all fixed, I can offer payment, too, if that helps.

Any other ideas to make this work better would be good, too. I have to admit, I only have a vague idea of what I'm doing, but it seems like a park for these little jerks to let out all their energy would be something a lot of people would like.

There's already a garden on the Iskaulit-- the people in charge would probably be able to help you out with how to set up if you go see them.

[She helps out there when she can, but as she somehow ended up working at both bars she doesn't really have as much free time as she wants.]
namisan: (short hair IS better I agree)

[personal profile] namisan 2016-02-26 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. Also you're dealing with foxes that are acclimatised to harsh cold conditions, so you have to be careful with whatever you put together for them. And some could be territorial and cause issues.

...it's a pity my doctor isn't here from home. He could talk to them direct.
namisan: (ah well you know how it is)

Ahhh... [This is where losing her weapon annoys her.] If I had my staff, I could. If it ever reappears from its magical journey with "customs", I can help there.

What an excellent idea.

Dirt and grass would be expensive until we arrive at another planet with them in abundance. Until then, synthetic grass would be much easier and less expensive to maintain. The toys and burrows and an obstacle course should be fairly easy to make with the materials we have available here or on the station, I think.

Certainly. At my home, one of the more popular ways to train canines is with an agility course - dogs that could complete it within an allotted time and with minimal mistakes are eligible for prizes and recognition. Additionally, it simulates the kind of natural environment one might find on many planets.

[Wanda has been looking for ways to distract herself the past couple of days, and this looked like a perfect opportunity. While she did not adopt a fox of her own, which she was really, really starting to regret, she figured this would be a good way to help out a friend and get to play with some of the fox pups again.]

I am willing to help. Are you over on the Iskaulit?

Well, [Joseph looks down at something off-camera,] Cloudy's got a couple of stuffed animals, and bones. Oh and a rope. And this one.

[He holds up what is indeed a squeaky hamburger toy. Except, you know. A space-y, alien-y hamburger because we're in space and that's probably not beef anyway, but whatever! The general concept of meat and buns remains, and that's not the point anyway. The point is that it squeaks. He gives it a couple of squeaks to prove that it's squeaky, to which there is a response of skittering paws with the loud clack of nails coming barreling down the hall off-camera.]
