[When the feed begins, Erik is already awake. Awake, but not yet moving from the bed. He's holding himself in the kind of intense stillness that preludes a burst of activity. And it comes shortly after, as he rolls swiftly to his feet and surveys the deck. This isn't the mansion, that much is clear. Nor is it part of any realm he's been in that he can tell. His brow furrows as he glares daggers into a featureless wall. While there is nothing of particular interest about it - it's just a wall - he seems to be observing something he finds off-putting about it.

He shakes his head abruptly, a quick jerk of the chin.] No. [With nothing further to say than that, he turns and stalks out of frame, with only a cursory glance at the communicator left behind.

Ten minutes pass, the feed holding on a truly exciting shot of that empty bed and floor.

But soon enough he re-enters the frame, wearing an expression somewhere between frustrated and resigned. This time, he does notice the communicator. After a considering pause, he walks over, reaching out ... and turns it with a finger, pointing the camera at the wall. His voice rings out clearly a moment later.]

If someone is watching, I'd appreciate an explanation. I haven't got much patience for these kinds of games anymore.

[He turns away from the window, looking back to the communicator once more.]

I'll grant them masters of abduction.

Amateurs of abduction? I dunno, is there a rank between 'notice' an' 'master'? 'Cause I've gotta say, not the most organized abduction ever.

A graduate, perhaps. [If there were schools for such a thing.]

What makes you say that?

Overcrowdin', for one. [She pauses, picks out another innocuous factoid.] Food supply, for the other. Enjoy what ya get on the Marsiva. Food's much worse out here, unless ya wind up on a ship with a cook.

So I've been hearing.

[He'll have to see what he can do with that. Cooking is something he's fairly skilled at by now, but the 'protein paste' Nightingale mentioned doesn't give him a lot of hope.]

But it sounds like these Atroma haven't been heard from in some time, either.

Not since the last attack from the Now Ya See Us, Now Ya Don'ts. The fleet appeared, shoved us all in an anomaly, an' then skiddaddled. 'course, Atroma did let us know we were ta be playin' delivery boy while on the space station, but they ain't anywhere near as chatty as they were when I first got here.

An anomaly...?

[This already seems like anomaly enough.]

Perhaps they have other things on their minds.

A nebula? A... space thing. [Sometimes she listens to her captain going on and on about space, and sometimes not so much.] Either way, not much point in speculatin'. We don't know enough ta spit, let alone make a decent guess.

Still, I appreciate hearing whatever history there is. It makes it easier to find a way forward.

[She gave him a small, tight smile.]

I'm not normally the best person at explainin' things. Especially when I'm talkin' ta someone that I've yet ta actually meet. What's your name?

It's Blade. [One of them, at least.] And I know it will be some time before I get moved off this ship.

[Blade. That was... not what she was expecting him to say. But Rogue was a full-fledged, card carrying member of the Self-Definition Club, she believed that names were important, that experiences and choices were formative and should be taken into account when meeting someone.

And if he wasn't going to call himself Erik or Magnus or Magneto, then he wasn't someone she knew, not really, not even if certain things remained constant, like the number which had been tattooed into her brain.]

[He nods.] It's nice to meet you. In a manner of speaking.

[Since this is still some kind of space-phone conversation while he's on a space-ship.]

[Well, Rogue was never one to let herself be held back from finding an answer by adhering to superficial politeness.

She nodded back and then tilted her head.]

Ya give yourself that name?

[He pauses for a moment before replying. Despite the presence of Nightingale and Opal, it's probably not common to have a singular name like that.]

No. Someone else did.

[Huh.]

Yeah?

That's right. [But he doesn't seem keen to expand on that.]

Well, thank you for the information.

[And she isn't one to pry unless she thinks it's necessary. It's enough that, however he is, even if he shares the same powers, he's not the same one. And she's not really all that worried about his powers, despite the fact that they are all essentially living in squishable metal boxes. She doesn't think she's met any version of Erik Lensherr who's that stupid. So.]
