[When the feed begins, Erik is already awake. Awake, but not yet moving from the bed. He's holding himself in the kind of intense stillness that preludes a burst of activity. And it comes shortly after, as he rolls swiftly to his feet and surveys the deck. This isn't the mansion, that much is clear. Nor is it part of any realm he's been in that he can tell. His brow furrows as he glares daggers into a featureless wall. While there is nothing of particular interest about it - it's just a wall - he seems to be observing something he finds off-putting about it.

He shakes his head abruptly, a quick jerk of the chin.] No. [With nothing further to say than that, he turns and stalks out of frame, with only a cursory glance at the communicator left behind.

Ten minutes pass, the feed holding on a truly exciting shot of that empty bed and floor.

But soon enough he re-enters the frame, wearing an expression somewhere between frustrated and resigned. This time, he does notice the communicator. After a considering pause, he walks over, reaching out ... and turns it with a finger, pointing the camera at the wall. His voice rings out clearly a moment later.]

If someone is watching, I'd appreciate an explanation. I haven't got much patience for these kinds of games anymore.

W-well, yeah! The second part. I meant in the sense that, like... there's no one trying to fight us or anything. There are criminals and dangerous on some of the planets and space stations, but that's different!

[Oh, no. Criminals. That does amuse him a bit.]

Because they aren't on board and disrupting the peace? That's a relief. So these ships do go to other places, then.

That's right! I don't think anyone's ever tried to stow away on our ships before.

I know, I'm relieved too! I can't be cramped in these ships like a sardine all the time. [He's getting a bit more comfortable speaking to him at least, but now it feels surreal to be having this casual conversation with someone who may or may not be the younger version of one of the deadliest people he's faced.] We usually go somewhere different each month. Right now, we're still near this really cool space station that has a whole city on it! The food's not bad, either!

[Erik blinks at that, interest piqued. It's the first anyone's mentioned that these ships are actually anywhere other than space.]

A space station? I'm finding it hard to picture something that big out here.

[He didn't even see the moon landing. Space in general is a bit of a leap for him.]

Well... I'm sorry to tell you, but there's a lot of things out here that are hard to picture. We're on spaceships now, and there's aliens, and space stations... [He tries to innocently slip in a probing option:] ...people with unusual powers...

[Erik raises an eyebrow. He's already had one person try to 'gently' broach the non-human subject with him, but that man hadn't been so outwardly different.]

I don't see anything unbelievable here besides the spaceships.

[He says, looking directly at Kurt's furry image.]

[He blinks, and then to confirm.]

You... do see me, right?

Yes. And you're very interesting, but I wouldn't say unbelievable. I've seen many types in my time, other than humans.

[There's no dancing around it. Kurt just says the word, confirms it.]

Mutants.

[Then his first guess was correct.]

I'm familiar. I am one.

[And Kurt's feeling that his guess may be correct too... as chilling as it feels.]

W-well, so am I. [A pause.] ...Kurt Wagner. Nightcrawler.

[He's not sure if either name will ring a bell, judging by how young this apparent Magneto looks. And if Magneto did remember him, Kurt's sure he would have gotten a very different treatment.]

[There's no recognition that sparks on his face, other than the acknowledgement of being a mutant. So he simply nods.]

Blade. Nice to meet you.

Blade? [He sounds surprised at that name. ~~In a different world, he'd wonder if he should be fighting vampires with a name like that~~.]

Um, uh, cool one! [He's not sure what to make of it. Is he really different from Magneto? Or if he's just using an alias, would trying to poke at his true name be dangerous? There's no telling what could set the buckethead off, so it seems best to play it safe while he's being nice.]

It's nice to meet you, too. ...People are pretty accepting up here in outer space.

[It's an uncertain reaction, but one he would expect, giving out a name like that. He's made the decision and sticking with it, for now. It is interesting that Kurt gave two names to start with. He's no stranger to that, though.]

Would that be the people on these ships, or the ones who are meant to inhabit this... [World? No, he has to think bigger than that. Erik shifts the communicator to point out the window, at the stars.] ...universe.

A little bit of both. Aside from a few incidents from either party, things have been... fine.

[He shrugs.]

Guess it helps that it's a big universe out there. When enough aliens out there look enough like me, I guess that makes it 'normal'.
