Broadcast (can also be an action option for anyone close enough to hear the racket):
[The communicator comes online in the middle of clattering to the floor, bouncing and skidding until it ends up wedged against something that props it at an odd angle. Most of what it shows is a bland view of the ceiling, though the audio of a heavily-accented German voice grumbling is clear as a bell.]

Goddammit, what part of let me d--what the? [There' s a loud implosion of air, with a similar bamf sound echoing further away. The voice mutters something, words indistinct but tone harsh. The clarity increases with the volume as the owner of the voice begins to swear emphatically, lapsing halfway through into truly inventive German, punctuated by the sounds of clattering and movement. Someone just realized his swords are missing.]

Action:
[Sometime after he's calmed down (and hopefully found the communicator/been given a heads-up on the situation, Kurt temporarily gives up on retrieving his swords and goes exploring his temporary home. Feeling vulnerable without his weapons and with a distinct lack of shadows to blend in to, he opts to scurry along the ceiling on fours in lieu of using the floor like a normal person. It also lets him inspect the ceiling for visible cameras, ventilation shafts, wiring, or anything to give him information about their captors' technology level.

Occasionally he stops near one of the huge windows, the view catching his attention even after he's given up on recognizing any of the stars. Kurt's been in space before, but never for long and always too busy fighting to get a good look at the sky. His own world is so polluted with the aftermath of two wars that the stars are hazy--and that's on the clear nights. It's not a good time to catch him on the floor, but it is a good one to catch his attention without interrupting anything.]

I will not risk it. [Said with firm conviction, a shake of her head. There were too many unknowns for her to try such a risky move.] Not unless we encounter any hostile threat... And since I have both been here a few days, and have it on relatively good authority that there are no hostiles present, I do not think it will be worth the risk anyway.

That being said, you may want to come down from up there, my friend. Let me be the first to assure you that there is no need to be so on edge. [It's a waste of energy, but it had taken her a day or two to figure that out herself.]

[That eyebrow of his is getting a lot of action right now. At least now he's looking at her instead of contemplating that window as though considering making a break for it anyway (which is close; he's trying to eyeball the distance between this ship and the others he can see.)] We've been abducted by entities strong enough to take us unawares, for the stated purpose of providing them with entertainment. If you don't consider that hostile, then I'd like to know what you do.

[Kurt stays right where he is, faint twitches around his eyes the most visible indication that they're moving instead of the man just staring blankly at her. Then he simply plummets, twisting in the air to land in a crouch. There's very little theatrics to it other than the suddenness of it, no bow when he straightens and looks up at her.] I hope you'll understand if I am still; I'm not the Kurt you know, and neither are you my Ororo.

There haven't been any explosions or sudden chases or even any overbearing guards; I would classify that as not immediately hostile. [She smiles dryly. The last time she was abducted and placed in a space station against her will didn't start out very hostile either - although, she was being wooed by an intergalactic conqueror then. Depending how you look at it, you could say she's been in a similar situation before. Sort of. Maybe.]

[In any case, when he reappears again, under more light than shadow this time, she's finally able to get a better look at him. And notices the subtler differences that she hadn't seen before. The mark on his eye, the shadowed look on his face, the grim and guarded expression. If she had any lingering doubts at all, they were gone now. She just nods.]

... I'd assumed as much. I was merely hoping, I suppose, that we could dispense with the formalities in spite of that. [She shakes her head, sounding a bit apologetic even if she won't apologize out loud. She isn't sorry for missing a dear friend of hers.]

Still, I will say that it is always good to see you doing well, Kurt. Whether you are the one I knew, or not. [And that, at least, was sincere.]

[Better her (or his alternate version) than him. Darkholme wouldn't know what to do, a failing illustrated by his next sentences.] I'd rather have any of those and get it over with. Then at least I'd have something to fight, instead of this. [He gestures with one hand and his tail, a motion meant to encompass the situation, the ship, and all the 'recon' he'd done that boiled down to nothing more than restlessness.

Her sentiment gets both eyebrows raised instead of one (that left eyebrow of his has been getting a workout).] Rather overly trusting of you, isn't it? For all you know, I could be a mad warlord intent on abducting all versions of you for my.. company. [He's not fooling anyone with that euphemism, and there's enough mischief in the subtle changes of his expression to suggest that he probably wasn't trying to.]

If you were, you would not be the first to try. [She finds herself even grinning at his mischief. She'd expect something like that from Remy, actually, but Kurt was no saint either.] And as with all the others before you, I'm sure I could handle you.

[One of the only good things about the world he grew up in was the absolute affirmation of the self-esteem his mother raised him with. That confidence and the familiarity of having an Ororo near makes it too easy to fire off with something like that.] Could a gentleman request a spot on the wall for the next time you do? I'll share the fruit I bring.

[With only a little more haughtiness than she actually feels:] Only if you promise to help take out the trash after the fact.

But of course. It would be the least I could do for the privilege of watching an expert take apart a man. [He genuinely means this as a compliment, for as there's plenty of mischief in his expression there's only the minimal edge that he carries always (or close enough) in his being.]
