[Guess who finally got a sword?

After weeks of saving up and being frugal with her money (to her woe, because damn it she needs clothes), she finally managed to get one from the local smithy. While it's not her blade from home, it's of decent quality and passable by her standards. It certainly beats not having one at all.

So more often than not, she'll be down in the cargo bay, testing it out and getting used to its weight and balance. She hasn't picked up a sword for too long, and she fears she's lost her edge a bit. The hold's resident dummy is going to be in for a beating. If anyone wants a demonstration or even lessons, she's always willing to teach, too.

Otherwise, she'll be just about anywhere around the ship, but in particular the mess hall and kitchen because hey, food.]

( STEALTHY ACTION FOR ALL CREW )

[ each member (besides sansa) of the blue fish crew will, on march 7th, find a little paper box outside their door. nestled inside is a modest embroidery piece, unique to each shipmate. in the middle, sansa has stitched the first letter of whatever name she knows them by. the pieces provide no pragmatic function, but are instead purely decorative. having recently been the recipient of a heartfelt gift, and struggling to discover her place upon their ship, she wants to express her gratitude for their kindness and their hospitality. she doesn't sign her work; instead, she trusts them to connect the craft with the young westerosi woman known to sit in her quarters or in her office for hours, head bowed and attention buried in her needlework.

bran and robb's pieces are a touch more...extravagant -- both done in stark colours. ]

[ recently, after suppers, sansa has been trying to linger longer around the table. perhaps she dares to invite a crewmate to tea -- or she asks someone if she can trouble them with a question. most importantly, she no longer rushes back to her room after every meal.

she now goes out of her way to greet those aboard the blue fish, and she may even knock upon your door with a more direct inquiry. ]

[Well that was a sound Allen knows well, the sound of the dummy being beaten. So of course he goes investigate.]

Hey! You finally found a sword!

[Allen's been busy the past couple weeks! Between doing jobs for money and the increase of Exorcist business, he's been keeping himself at the level of activity he enjoys himself being at - busy enough where he doesn't have time to mull over things. As such, he's been off ship a fair amount, but not enough to seem like anything specific is wrong- just busy]

[Today, he can be found in the clinic. He's not doing anything urgent, just running some tests on various medications he's found in different places of the space station to verify them. Sure, he could use the tricoder to figure out the differences quickly, but that's hardly as fun as setting things on fire, smashing them or shaking them okay]

Okay...that pill is...sugar and...wheat protein?

[Ergh. He makes a face as he marks that do. Nooo good.]

[Feel free to bother him! If not there, he can be found in other parts of the ship at various times- such as the kitchen at dinner or training in the cargo bay in the morning]

A - Damsel in no distress whatsoever

[Luckily for Nita, the vagaries of whatever fate is controlling this latest phase of her life have placed her on a ship with a huge bathtub. All her needs are met! Not necessarily in the luxurious style to which she's accustomed, granted, but the cheerfully adaptable Nita doesn't much care about details like that and hasn't complained about much but the clothes.

The slight overcrowding means that she's taken to getting her soak time overnight, sleeping in a jacuzzi tub of cold water--it's all the same to her and she doesn't want to deprive anyone of a hot shower. Unfortunately, she hasn't kept track of who she's told that she's amphibious, and for all intents and purposes, asleep she looks like a drowning victim, pale and motionless at the bottom of the bath, her long ponytail floating spread out on the surface.

Anyone who tries to stage a rescue should be aware that she weighs about twice as much as she looks like she should, because Comic Book Reasons.]

B - Culinary genius

[Yeah no she just dumped a bunch of taco seasoning into instant mashed potatoes and is sitting in the mess, eating the results out of a mixing bowl with one hand while she plays generic Asteroids on the comm with her other. She's better at video games than cooking, though that's mostly the superhuman reaction times rather than any actual skill.

Today she has chosen to rock the beige jumpsuit look with the sleeves tied around her waist, revealing a t-shirt with "I TOOK THE SUPERNOVA CHALLENGE" in block letters and a cartoon of a person on fire running away from what looks like a plate of chicken wings, presumably acquired during ill-advised tourist adventures on the station. Plus, as usual, no shoes, with the legs of her jumpsuit rolled up enough not to interfere with the little white wings at each ankle.

Your newest crewmate is a little weird.]

What's the Supernova Challenge?

[Because yes out of this scene, that's what struck Allen as noteworthy. He was in the kitchen, grabbing a snack. He's seen this woman around the ship for awhile, but he hasn't had much chance to talk to her beyond simple pleasantries.]

Oh, hey Allen.

[Nita looks up and waves with her Asteroids hand, at which point her comm makes an insulting 8-bit beeping noise as she loses the game. She doesn't seem to notice.]

There's this bar on the station that basically just dumps some kind of evil death pepper into its hot wing sauce. If you can eat a whole order without crying uncle, it's free and they give you the shirt and put your picture on the Wall of Champions.

[She smirks.]

Really?!

[Oh my god he looks so awed by that idea]

That sounds incredible...! And does having that shirt mean you won it?

[MAD RESPECT FOR YOU NITA]

I think they let you buy it if you lose, but heck yeah I won.

[TOO STUBBORN TO SURRENDER and eh, she's been through worse.]

Ah, that's amazing! Congratulations!

I wish I could do something like that....though I suppose it's all meat.

[At least when Nita looks smug, it's pretty cute.]

I didn't ask [she is the opposite of a picky eater] but it's not like you can taste anything under the spice, so it might as well be cardboard strips for all the difference it would make. Might as well ask them for tofu or something.

[Well then...! He rubs his chin]

Hmm.....

[On one hand, it's been years since he's eaten meat. As much as he misses it, he's learned to live as a vegetarian after....the incident.]

[On the other hand, this sounds like an honorable eating contest. One that he would adore to be apart of. Allen wasn't one to step down from a challenge after all. A challenge he knows he can win. Would it be considered cowardly to these people to ask for a vegetarian option? He'd hate to come off as weak..........]

[God, this is so difficult. Don't mind him as he gets lost in completely deliberating thought.]

[Nita watches in patient silence for a good ten seconds as the Jeopardy! theme plays in Allen's head.]

Blue Fish to Allen?

[Well at least that snaps him out of it]

- Ah! Sorry Nita. I was just...thinking.

It'd probably stop hurting after, like, a day.

[That counts as encouragement, right?

She doesn't know about the vegetarian thing, because on a ship where all the food is artificial protein glop, why would she?]

[He laughs]

Oh don't worry, it's not the spicy I'm worried about. [He cracks his knuckles confidently.] It's more I'm still a vegetarian.

[Nita doesn't really get vegetarianism--you have to do things like kill sea monsters in gladiatorial combat to come of age where she's from--but she's a live-and-let-live type.]

What if we bought a bunch of their hot sauce and had a Fleet-wide challenge with the protein stuff? Equal ground for everyone!

[She's a helper.]

[Riona pauses in her strikes when she hears Allen. Grinning in triumph, she holds up her sword.]

I did! So damn expensive, but it was worth it.

[One never knows what one will walk into on any given day in the Blue Fish kitchen.

Today is going to be one of the more odd ones, given what Riona is seeing as she walks in. Sadly she hasn't really had a chance to talk with Nita yet, not quite sure what to make of the ship's newest crew member.

She offers her a smile as she walks up to the counter to start making some tea. The shirt, however, catches her eye. And hey, it's a good conversation starter!]

Does the supernova challenge involve setting people on fire?

Ha, no.

[Silly! Nita doesn't look up from her video game yet. Blasting those space rocks is important.]

They give you a bunch of wings in super, super hot sauce and if you can finish the whole plate, you win.

[A second or two of silence but for a few beeps from her comm as yet more pixel rocks meet their demise.]

I totally won.

[That is a vital detail to clarify, okay.]

[sara's not the kind of girl people invite for tea, and she never has been. not even strangers. maybe it's just as strange that sara agreed to this, but then again, maybe not. sansa claims to have been friends with nyssa; how can sara ignore her?]

Nice place.

[she casts her eyes around, says it half-ironically; it's a jab at pleasantries, at the fleet, but not sansa.]

[Today marks a year since she was brought to the fleet, so naturally, Beverly is feeling a bit homesick as she sits in the pilot's chair on the bridge. She's not there to do anything with the controls, however, it just happens to offer one of the better views of the stars. The tricorder rests on the console in front of her, a little projected holo-picture of Wesley floating above it. She sits in contemplative silence for a long while, but eventually she reaches for her communicator and selects her media file to play: ""Beyond Antares'. It's a peaceful song, one that helps alleviate her longing for home somewhat.

Whoever comes in, she'll offer them a genuine smile - despite the significance of the day for her, she's in a better place now emotionally than she has been in months, so it's not as overwhelming of an anniversary as it could have been.]

Oh, I'm not in the way am I?

Unorthodox, certainly. But the Blue Fish has been most welcoming. Warm, and kind. [ she has the table set -- almost as though she's imbued far too much importance into this meeting. sure enough, too often she takes a moment and simply stares. like clarifying, against her memories, that this is indeed the same sara she saw in nyssa's mind-space.

sansa invokes the guest right when she pours sara a cup of strong fragrant tea. ] I'm sorry I could not find any baklava. I do not know where Nyssa got it -- but she would bring it to me every week. She never missed a meeting, until...

[ gone. ]

[ so zuko's life has been A Hot Mess (TM) for the past month or so, and he's been kind of keeping to himself while also monitoring azula and doing all the other things that zuko usually does.

you can usually find him in his therapy office (which is actually sasuke's second room but whatever), or in the cargo bay practicing with the test dummy. sometimes he's hanging out in the kitchen, but he's been pretty quiet lately. bother him into socialization. go check on him. or annoy him. or both!!

beware of aguri, though. it seems to be staring at people even more than usual... ]

[He'll grin back. She is so adorable for a sword wielding lady okay]
