Also, thanks to Kate, we now have a SWEARS AND ATTITUDES JAR displayed prominently in the kitchen. Whenever someone's being naughty instead of nice, they're compelled to deposit a few credits (or at least an iou) into the awaiting jar.

[ it's so not fair that she knows him from a movie theatre far far away, so she makes a point to at least play the fool: ]

The Force. [His voice is slightly dreamy.] The energy of everything. It's... here. [A pamphlet advertising 'Vreenak's Bar And Grill' floats into the air.]

[ -- she takes a moment. selfishly, really. because it's a moment where his eyes are shut and she can stand in legitimate awe. now, it's no longer about the fan phenomenon. instead, she's watching a man grasp the ubiquitous and the unknown. it deserves a moment of silence.

softly said: ] Maybe I should...come back another time. Let you finish up before I let out my inner yogi.

I... What? [Luke can almost feel something, if he just... it's nearly...]

[Luke falls over. Bits of formerly floating detrius clatter to the floor.] It's here! [He blindly reaches out to the pamphlet for Vreenak's.] It's here?

[He looks up to Kate with a confused expression.]

[ kate tenses -- her head turns, just by degrees, and she eyes luke with the intensity of a thousand doubting suns. ]

What's here?

[Luke looks over the pamphlet, which proudly advertises free beer nuts.] I don't... know. Maybe it's nothing. [He scratches his head.] I guess I have to go to find out.

[He looks up at Kate.] Want to join me?

[ -- free beer nuts. well, there could be worse prospects. kate nods. ]

Sure. [ yoga can wait, right? ] Just lemme go slip into something a little less...athletic.

I should probably do the same. I'll meet you in the shuttle?

[And about fifteen minutes later, there he is, wearing the black Jedi getup he bought on the station. Who knew there were cosplayers out here! Not Luke, who just thought it was good luck on his part. He smiles when he sees Kate.]

I hope you won't be too disappointed if it turns out to be nothing. That happens sometimes. [Less and less lately, though.]

[ katie keeps it casual: white pedal pushers made of some futuristic blended fabric and a slightly-too-baggy buttoned top. however, she's let her hair down. as with nearly every other day so far, she looks remarkably...normal. even without accounting for the differing fashions between worlds and times, kate behaves in a fashion that does very little but suggest she's a garden variety young adult. a bit privileged, perhaps. and (by now) it's probably pretty obvious to her crewmates that she knows wolverine since before this assignment. but otherwise? unremarkable.

she returns his smile. ] Disappointed? I don't even know what we're hoping for. You can't dash expectations that haven't yet been made.

I don't know, some people's ideas of the Force are... pretty spectacular. [He laughs and turns the repulsorlift engines of the shuttle on to a pleasant hum.] The only sense I got from Vreenak's was that it was important.

[He hands Kate the now carefully folded pamphlet.]

[ and with due care and curiousity, she unfolds the pamphlet. but in the end, it's just a pamphlet. isn't it? beer nuts aside, she doesn't really understand the draw...

but luke isn't just luke. he's also the ship's captain. some people might expect it would be difficult for one leader to take lead from another, but kate appreciates how smoothly the day goes when someone (anyone!) takes point. so, for now, she sticks to nodding. no reason to rock the boat until she had a reason to do so. ]

Important? Right. Well, I'm right there with you. Worst case scenario? We order mojitos.

[ she settles in the passenger seat. ]

[The flight to Vreenak's is very short-- a blessing when these shuttles don't really go very fast-- and takes them to a seedy bar at the back of a crumbling city block. The bar itself seems to be run entirely by a staff of elves in strange bowl-cuts, but Luke doesn't seem to notice. He shakes the hosts' hand and orders a drink from a menu he can't read.]

Do you want anything? It's on me. Least I can do.

Least you can do for what, huh? [ she seems to dodge that same offer of a handshake and (instead) slides into a bar-seat with enough grace to make one think she'd been poured into it. ] You don't owe me for nothing. Besides, I don't drink...on the clock, so to speak.

[ and nothing about this makes her feel as though it was a social outing. ]
