Also, thanks to Kate, we now have a SWEARS AND ATTITUDES JAR displayed prominently in the kitchen. Whenever someone's being naughty instead of nice, they're compelled to deposit a few credits (or at least an iou) into the awaiting jar.

[Luke's wide eyed expression inches toward a snide little smirk.] I think you can guess by now.

[Just a tad pouty. Luke sits up, finally, and dusts himself off.] To what do I owe the pleasure?

I thought I'd see how you were doing.

[He's fine, as far as Leia can tell. She takes a seat on the crate he was just levitating. There's no especially good way to get into the details of why she's here, but she can at least make it sound like a pleasantry rather than an assignment.]

How's your arm?

My arm? [Talk about non sequiturs.] It's fine, why?

[imahologram]

Just wondering. [It's as strange a question to him as to her, evidently, but she's determined to do this. The Force would guide you--how, though?] You haven't...had any problems with it?

[t65]

No, have you- [He stares down at it with a hesitant worry, and asks in a voice edged just slightly with embarrassment,] have you noticed something?

No! Of course not. [The last thing she wants to do is put worries in Luke's head. As far as she's concerned, his prosthesis is just fine the way it is, as long as it's working for him.

She sighs. Concealing the reason for the inquiry clearly isn't going to work.] Ana--our father [for you, Luke, and only for you] asked me to talk to you about it. He seems to think I'll be able to help you with it.

[ASK HER WHAT SHE THINKS OF THAT oh wait, you don't have to, her eyes are rolling inside her voice.]

Oh. [He looks back down at his hand.] When I spoke with... Anakin, [two can play at that game,] I asked him why he didn't use synthskin. He said it was because he didn't want to hide his mistakes.

[The parallels are uncomfortably clear. At the time, Luke had been sanguine with them having different philosophies on the matter, but now, if his father disagrees so strongly he's sending Leia to ask about it...]

[Leia can't imagine having that conversation with Anakin. It's a good thing Luke can.]

He was worried you might be off-balance. Or...that you might need help somehow.

[It wasn't about the synthskin--that much, she's sure about.]

He was- worried? [That seems strangely out of character for the man Luke's met only a precious few times. His voice squeaks a little at the question.]

[Leia nods.] He doesn't want you to be hobbled by your arm.

[For a moment or two, she's quiet, but then the words burst out of her.]

I still think he'd be able to do more for you, but--he thinks because we're twins--

I don't think I am... [He stares at his hand. The thought that his father is so worried by this is both invigorating and frightening. This is the parental care and concern he's always wanted, and he has no idea what to do with it.]

[He just has to keep moving forward.] You know, Leia, we've never meditated together. Maybe that's what he was getting at.

[imahologram]

[Leia frowns. Anakin hadn't brought up meditation, and it hadn't entered her mind as a possibility. But it's not like she has a better idea; just talking hasn't exactly set her brother at ease.

(Maybe what they need is for the Force to guide Luke. He actually knows what to do with it.)]

We could try that, if you wanted. [She tries to push the dubiousness from her voice.] Now? Or...?

[t65]

Not if you don't want to. [He shakes his head. Meditation might be a good way to regain his calm, though...] Have you ever meditated before, Leia?

[imahologram]

Once. [Well, once with someone else present. She'd tried a few times since then, but not to such success that she's kept going on her own.] We could try now, if you think you'd be able to concentrate with me. It's not exactly my greatest strength.

[t65]

Believe me, it's not mine, either. [Luke says with self-depreciating fondness.] I'm not especially good at sitting still. I think it's why Yoda had me do the handstands.

[Leia laughs--but kindly.] I guess it runs in the family. I always end up thinking about all the other things I could be doing.
