eighth labyrinth
Who: Felix Harrowgate
Broadcast: Fleet-wide
Action: The Iskaulit library
When: Today
[There's some disorienting tilting to the view from his communicator before Felix backs up into frame, affording the prospective audience both a decent view of the dark blue doublet he's obtained a few worlds ago as well as the room around him. The space is wide open and filled with a mismatched array of furniture and bookshelves that seem only partially occupied, which is really the thing of utmost import right now.
He smiles and offers the camera a sweeping wave]
Greetings, Fleet members. My name is Felix and I have a brief request for all of you. If you are not aware, this [Another wave] is the Iskaulit library. If you are new and not aware of the Iskaulit, it is a communal ship in the fleet which you can reach via shuttle. This library was previously curated by a former fleet member aboard one of the smaller ships, largely through their own finances and donations of others. Since then the collection hasn't much changed.
Now..[with that out of the way, it's time to get to business, and he folds his hands in front of him]...this is where I ask all of you for help. I realize we are all rather poor right now, but I also know many of you are finding ways to make up for it. I ask that you take a few of those chips and buy a book or two while we are still near the Starlight, as it may be the last chance we may have for a month or two. Not every place we visit will be nearly so full of ways to occupy your time, not to mention the stretches of time in between.
If you find it in your heart and better interest to contribute, you can bring any books you procure to me at the SS Starstruck, or bring them directly here. Nearly anything is appreciated. [He has some standards, but only some]

I think you're confusing me for FDR. My name is Jim Kirk. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to know where your quarters are.
[ He winked at him, blue eyes sparkling and his mouth curling in his particular smile, its charm different from FDR's. ]
[ video ]
Well...all in due time, Jim. [The smile widens just a bit, for a moment, before returning to something marginally more serious] I beg your pardon for the presumption on my part.
[ video ]
Don't worry about it. I take it as a compliment. I hope I wasn't to rude in presuming back.
[ Because Felix was nice looking, so while he had been flirting, it was serious flirting. He wouldn't mind a romp with this one, and he had jumped into bed before with less than a name and ten words between them. ]
[ video ]
[He smiles and moves closer to the table where he'd set the communicator for his announcement, pulling out a chair and taking a seat so he can continue in a softer tone.
While he can Crowley had only promised they could make no promises, it still made him hesitate, a reaction which the other man clearly noticed. He isn't sure if he's disappointed by that or not.]
I presume you're acquainted with my crew-mate, then?
[ video ]
FDR you mean? Yeah, we met in a bar. Not every day you meet your near twin.
[ They had spoken some, but he couldn't say he knew to much about him other than that they were very different people. ]
Personally, I like to think I have the better smile, but I might have to let you be the judge of that.
[ And there he was, back to the flirting, but he couldn't help it. It came naturally, like breathing. ]
[ video ]
[It was the same for him. Easy. Especially when there didn't have to be much force behind it. Or against it, for that mattered. Though flirting with someone who wasn't receptive to it was a kind of entertainment all it's own]
That must have been quite a shock.
[ video ]
[ He blew out a breath. ]
I've run across doubles like that before. It wasn't me, but it was one of my crew members - my first lieutenant. There was him, and then another him from another time line, just older. And yes, it is as confusing as it sounds. I wonder if he felt like me seeing FDR.
[ His lips turned up in another grin, this one softer if no less charming, the flirtation in the very corners of his mouth. ]
I'm a bit more used to situations like this than he is, I feel. Where I come from, space travel is normal. I'm the captain of a space ship, actually. The kidnapping is new, but space travel surely isn't.
[ video ]
Space travel does seem like the least of all those revelations by far. That's interesting though. You both captain a kind of ship. Do you two have any other parallels, that you are aware?
[ video ]
We're both devastatingly handsome.
[ Have an eyebrow waggle Felix. ]
[ video ]
Besides the obvious.
[ video ]
[ He shrugged, but honestly he couldn't say much about the other than that. They hadn't spoken for very long, but he was fairly sure of the things he had said. ]
Why? Is there something you want to personally check?
[ He didn't quite waggle his brows, but they are arched very suggestively. ]
[ video ]
Not like that. It just seemed something to ponder in regards to questions of fate and the intrinsic nature of what makes us who we are, yes? Two people that appear to be the same person, but from vastly different places, and yet some things remain take startlingly similar paths. That's intriguing, isn't it?
[ video ]
[ He laughed and rubbed his cheek. ]
I guess what I mean is I am who I am, and a similar face doesn't make me less of who I am, or take away from who I am.

[He smirks, though some of the humor is subtly self-deprecating]
Re: [ video ]
Sorry. I didn't make you uncomfortable, did I? I just thought it was a question and so I answered.
[ He gave a sheepish grin and rubbed the back of his head. ]

Re: [ video ]
I have a feeling you make the badgering worth while in the end.
[ He smirked in return, playing the game til the end. ]
[ video ]
We'll see about that. Let me know when you have those books, hm?
Re: [ video ]
[ If he sees it, he says nothing on it. But he hears when a conversation is at an end and he figures he has misstepped somehow in this little game they are playing. ]
Of course. Hopefully I can deliver them in person.
{ video ]
Of course. See you soon.
[A tiny wave of farewell]
