Kinda? I know what all the buttons are for and everything, but I can't ever get a sense of where I am, without a road or trees or anything to guide me. I tried to visit another ship one time and it took me damn near forever to get hooked up. Now I just go whenever someone else is going somewhere.

Kind of like walking around in the dark? Yeah, you usually have to focus more on guidance systems unless you are in crowded airspace. Or...space space.

[Misty scrunches her nose.] It's so hard to keep track of everything.

I can walk you through it. You'll just need practice to get it down. I can give you rides when I'm around too. [Not like she keeps a super busy schedule.]

I'd be real grateful to you! When can we start?

Now if you want. A practice trip somewhere? Unless there's a ship you need to get to then a practice one way and I'll bring it back and pick you up later.

No, I don't need to be anywhere! Right now is perfect!

[Kitty does some super important piloty things that are all very technical right now and her mun totally knows what they are, but let's keep things light, shall we? Then with all that secure she gets up.] Let's grab a shuttle. Do people visit other ships regularly? [She's spent a lot of time exploring and trying to figure out the Atroma and such, but not a lot on the social dynamics of the Fleet.]

I think so? I've only been to a couple of them myself... most of the time I like going to the Iskaulit, to the gardens or the interfaith center.

[She grins.]

Or the bar. But there is this nice doctor lady who runs the gardens - she's over here all the time. I think she's good friends with the captain and Wrath. I don't know what other people do though.

Is the doctor a redhead?

[She nods.]

Yeah! That's her! I don't really know her that well though.

She seems like good people. I've known others from her world.

Really? Does that happen a lot, people showin' up from the same universe?

[She doesn't look particularly thrilled by the idea.]

I knew the others at the prison before here, but it seems to for some people.

Actually, five more X-Men showed up after I did. Only one of them is from my reality, but that's the first time I've seen anyone who is actually from home. [Which is HUGE and there is definitely a change in her voice when she says it, but it doesn't exactly show the full magnitude of how it makes her feel. She doesn't miss that Misty doesn't seem as excited about the prospect. There's definitely a lot of bad that could come through from her world too. She's been beyond lucky.]

Ever had anyone dangerous show up that you knew?

We're all dangerous. [She is the best at being reassuring.] But one of the bad guys? No. [Ask a different X-Man and you might get a different story since Gambit fought against the X-Men in his world and most of them know Magneto as the enemy and not the leader of the X-Men the way she does.] Worried about seeing someone?

[Maybe best if she doesn't hear that particular detail - she likes Gambit quite a bit.]

Some other witches from the coven. Not all of 'em, but some of them are real bad, gone too far in the shadows.

[He still seems like a good guy to her.] Think a change of environment will bring them out at all or just seeing it as trouble?

[She frowns.]

I don't know... I don't think Fiona can ever be saved. Tried to kill her own daughter. Ain't much you can do to come back from that.

No, that's pretty far gone. [Even if something like that was necessary for good reasons how would you come back from it? And she doubts there were good intentions from the way Misty speaks of it.] Some people never see anyone from home. You just never know. At least that's how it was at the prison and from what I've seen here so far I think it's the same.

[Misty thinks on this for a moment. The idea of either Madison or Fiona showing up is something awful. But... she's got an advantage this time. She knows the people here and most of 'em have been real good to her so far. They wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Well, if anyone ever shows up by the name of Fiona Goode or Madison Montgomery, would you let me know soon as you find out?

[She repeats the names and nods.] If they come up I'll contact you first. Anything I should know about them?

[You're on her ship. Part of her crew. And she's a person who needs team. Needs family. It's still new and there are X-Men here to build those bonds with too, but until someone messes it up somehow she's going to be protective of the people in both circles. Maybe the whole damn fleet.]

They're witches too. Fiona was the Supreme - that's the most powerful witch, the head of the Coven. The Supreme is also the only witch who can perform all of the Seven Wonders: [She lists them off as if by rote memorization, a classroom lesson] telekinesis, concilium, transmutation, pyrokinesis, divination, vitalum vitalis, and descensum. Fiona's dead now, but I already figured out that don't stop Atroma and well... I oughtta know about not stayin' dead. The Supreme is supposed to protect the Coven and then she's supposed to pass on her power to the next one when the time comes, but Fiona didn't want none of that. She kept trying to kill any of us she thought was going to be the next Supreme. Couldn't let go of all that power.

Madison... That bitch did kill me. Buried me alive. As if that was going to stop me. She's just as bad as Fiona, all she cares about is herself and she's right damn powerful in her own right, though whether she's the next Supreme or not... God I hope not.

[Just one more reason she never wants to go back.]

[Some of those powers register as things she's known other mutants to do. A few she's just not familiar with at least in title, but maybe in practice if she heard a description. But thoughts of the parallels stop there as Misty talks about her own death even if it was temporary.]

I'm sorry. [Being killed isn't exactly a pleasant thing under any circumstances but coming from the people most like you...well, there's feeling like an outcast and then there's that.] Did you come back while at home [and how?] or because this place pulled you out?

[She shakes her head.] I came back on my own. You see... I got the power of Resurgence. Or resurrection or whatever you want to call it.

'Course, it wasn't all me. If Cordelia hadn't come to dig me out, don't do me much good to come back, just to sit around in a coffin.
