002 - In a pretty cabinet

[The feed opens to an (as usual) very bored Crowley. He's sitting at his communications workstation, and he's holding something vaguely CD-box shaped. He gives the screen a cheery wave. ]

So. I ended up being dragged though into that stupid temple. A lot of boring things happened there, mostly involving being stuck on the M6 Orbital. Trust me, it's worse than it probably sounds. Anyway, I was given a gift for my troubles, and gifts, like horrible jokes, are made for sharing.

[He reaches over and presses a button. Throughout your networks, if you have them turned on or not, you will suddenly hear the beginnings of The Greatest Hits of a certain popular British band. ~Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?~ It seems Crowley has finally used his augment for something other than listening into your conversations. If you don't have a helpful comms officer on board, good luck getting rid of it. It won't stop.

He smiles and gives a cheery salute, offering as parting words:]

Enjoy, suckers.

so, he leans quickly in the doorway of the bridge, listening to this entire little exchange.

[Crowley flashes Tek a grin, folding his arms behind his head, lounging back on his chair.]

Must have been that healing excursion.

[he looks genuinely pleased with what he's seeing. properly pleased with himself.]

Must have been. The rest of the fleet must have me to thank for their new source of musical entertainment.

[Crowley rolls his eyes behind his shades.]

That was not an invitation to take all the credit.

Oh, fine. I suppose I can share.

...And does this mean that you do this sort of thing often?

What? Irritate the fuck out of people? Yeah.

[ha, he grins a little]

Didn't know you had the motivation for something like that.

It's my job, technically. And this way, I can irritate a lot of people while expending very little energy.

Being petty is a job?

[oh, Tek. he still thinks Crowley must be kidding.]

No, being a demon is a job. It's my job.

I thought demon was your species.

And it's my job. It's an all-encompassing title.

I had no idea that demons had jobs.

Was it one of those created-for-a-purpose type of things, or something else?

Oh yes, a very well paid one, too. No one wants to be stationed on the surface all the time.

Well, if we're going to be technical, the other side [he points upwards] created me. Though I suppose He was in on it the whole time. Grand Plan, and all that.

[he actually looks genuinely curious about it. he's so close to actually understanding the whole thing, using bits and pieces he's gathered from other demons and one certain angel.]

[At least Crowley doesn't especially mind explaining it.]

It seemed very popular, judging by how many copies there were in the great library of one of my last little prisons.

I'll admit that I couldn't bring myself to read much of it, however. Very dry.

Anyway, my part is the first. When the Guy Upstairs created, well, everything. He created his angels before Earth, though, and that's where I came from.
