My actual name is Katherine. I like to be called Kitty. [Or at least that's what she's been going by for as long as she can remember. She doesn't actually mind when certain people call her Kitten or Kätzchen, but no one uses the long form.]

You? I mean, unless you've fallen in love with The Questioner. It's a pretty great name.

Nice to meet you, Kitty.

[and, after a pause.] It's Orion, but I guess I won't argue with The Questioner.

[She nods] You too.

I guess I haven't had too much time to get attached to it. I can go with Orion.

So what about you? What do you miss most from home? And where is home? [Oh, look who is the questioner now!]

Home is Earth. And I miss my friend. I miss my work.

[he's at least a little expectant of that. this isn't exactly the first time he's asked questions like this.]

I'm from earth too. [Not to be confused with Earth 2] Chicago. What was work? Other than not being a reality TV star. [Since it would be harder to miss that from here.]

Work was... classified. But definitely busy.

[he smirks.]

Classified, hmm? Sounds military or military adjacent.

You wouldn't be wrong.

[this is a fun game. he doesn't actually care whether or not he'll tell her but he doesn't know how it'll go.]

Is there a secret title for that name of yours? General? Sergeant? Admiral? [Smiling.] Then again if you're staying busy with classified work maybe more of a grunt. Spy? Do spies get titles?

It's Commander, actually. And that used to be what they called me here, too.

Did you demote yourself?

No. I decided I needed a real name, and asked a friend to provide.

If only I had gotten to you first. You could have had a "The" in your name. [But all joking aside.] Commander was your only name back home? [Because that sounds...bad possibly. At least her mind doesn't go to pleasant places for why that would happen.]

Yeah. I've been told how weird that is.

[and fucked up]

But it's not bad. It's been about nine months since anybody's called me that.

[She's more concerned it sounds dehumanizing.] I went by Shadowcat sometimes. [A name she gave herself on top of Kitty, but she's been asking a lot of questions. She figures she'll throw something out there.] Mostly just in combat.

Combat? Why Shadowcat, then?

[now he's awfully invested.]

Back home I was on a team with lots of fighting. Non-military.

And the name...I think that's a product of picking it when I was thirteen. [She gives a little shrug. She still likes the codename, but does it always make the most sense? Eh.] My powers don't actually have anything to do with shadows or cats. [Though she can be as insubstantial as a shadow and she does fight with claws when the Atroma don't take them from her.]

Then what do they have to do with?

[he gestures to the space in between them.]

[She smiles, not needing the space for this.] Try to touch me. It won't hurt you.

Unless you're an android and then you really shouldn't. [You never know, right? If he does try he'll find his hand will slip painlessly and effortlessly through her. There's not really a feeling associated with it though sometimes the mind can fill something in like a slight tingle.]

[let him just hold up both hands. one is metal. one is not. and then he's gonna reach out with the one that isn't, and when his hand just sinks through her arm, he yanks it back (before it ends up somewhere it shouldn't).

[his eyes go a little wide.]

... That's new.

Good. I run into too many people who know someone with a similar power. [It was more unique back home, but in places trapping people from the entire multiverse you never know.]

How'd you come by the arm? [It looks enough like Colossus in his techno-organic state to be unsettling. There's a lot of unresolved when it comes to him.*]

(OOC: I'm just assuming it looks like Bucky's does in the movie?)

Accident. The details are a little fuzzy, but this thing comes in handy.

[he raises his hand again, turning it over and flexing the fingers for her to see.]
