The HS Maldua

[Well, it's finally happened. The Maldua has docked and now is your chance to deliver your gumball cargo--regardless of whether or not it's in perfect condition, it would seem.

Multiple ships can dock on the Maldua at once, as can individual shuttles. So whether you're helping, breaking things, or watching others do all the work--interaction can be between pretty much anyone, not just crews.

[WELL, now he feels like the worst person ever. He kind of stares at the disembowelled robot. ]

[He's not the worst person ever. Far from it. And it's not her intention to make him feel guilty either.

Which is why she hesitates before speaking again. But it might help him understand. He doesn't know Data, but he does know Daneel, and knows how important he is to her. Softly now, and without accusation:]

[Okay, that's...surprising. He looks up, brows furrowed, confusion reigning on his face. ]

Yes. And one of my good friends at home is an android as well so this... This is very important to me.

[He sits back because...wow, yep. That would be a reason to feel angry about taking a robot apart. ]

Oh. Well. Uh... sorry for taking apart a potential person. Yeesh, when I say it like that.

[She takes a deep breath.]

I know you didn't intend to hurt anyone and I know you don't come from a world that has artificial intelligence. Hell, people don't accept it even when they are from such a world. I'm not looking to make you feel guilty, I just want to fix this.

[Sokka looks down at all the scattered robot parts, strewn around him, like guts.]

I'm not actually sure if I can put it back together.

I'll help you but if we can't get everything back together... perhaps if we take them back to the Maldua, the other robots can fix them.

You know, that might just work. [A soft laugh. Ha ha. ] Maybe they'll even pay us for the gumballs then. That'd make Allen happy.

We have some gumballs in the lab, donated by other people to study - we can probably use them to get the Maldua to let us on board.

[Sokka nods. ]

It's worth a shot! Let's load them up and do some robot grovelling.

[Beverly reaches across the table to give his hand a squeeze.]

[He gives an awkward shrug, still dealing with some left over guilt. ]

Hey don't thank me, I'm fixing up my mistake.

And that's important - that you can own up to your mistakes and take steps to rectify them.
