The HS Maldua

[Well, it's finally happened. The Maldua has docked and now is your chance to deliver your gumball cargo--regardless of whether or not it's in perfect condition, it would seem.

Multiple ships can dock on the Maldua at once, as can individual shuttles. So whether you're helping, breaking things, or watching others do all the work--interaction can be between pretty much anyone, not just crews.

Here's the event post, for reference. Have fun!]

If it was across the board, then I wouldn't think so. [Much like the augments he's been alternately trying not the think about, or thinking too much about.]

Did you leave, or were you taken from there to here?

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-03-28 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I was whisked from there to here. Another from that place preceded me, so the time dilation effect is quite... interesting.
grandstanding: (I can hear you.)

[He's been wondering about that himself, but with no one from his world here with him - or his version of it - he's been left to worry about it alone. Nightingale and Adelina's stories were also different. So he straightens a bit at the comment, more intent.]

Then there's no consistent timeframe they take people from.

No.

The person from my world was taken some months after I vanished to come here, yet preceded my arrival by a good three months.

I suppose it possible I have been kept in a static pocket dimension or something of that sort for the intervening time, but a bit of listening yields that there are many people from various points in history from the same original realms.

It wouldn't surprise me, at this point. There are a number of people here who know an older version of myself, that I've never met.

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-03-30 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
It not even be from a further point in your universe. I've encountered quite a number of people who have met versions of myself from divergent universes. Quite mad ones.

[He nods, on firmer ground now that he's got a shared experience.]

I believe that's the case with me as well. At least one reality is quite different from what I know, despite some of the same people inhabiting both.

[Some dead, some monsters... some, like himself, doing things he'd never consider part of his path.]

It's bloody annoying, isn't it. They come at you with their expectations, as if you will play out a part in their understanding.

[Heh.]

I am Loki, son of Frigga, by the by. [Since they never got around to the introduction thing. And he's curious who this man might be.]
grandstanding: (It feels too good without you)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-01 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
[It is at that, given the expectations some of the ones he's met have. If he were a more sensitive person, he'd feel slightly bad about the fact he's doing the same right now to Loki. But it has been long enough that he doesn't think too many assumptions will be made on his part. It's been eleven years, and in the scheme of things, it was more of an acquaintance.]

Blade. Good to meet you. Although, since we're on the subject, I should be up front. I knew another version of you, in the realm I mentioned.

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-03 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. [That might explain some of the more subtle things he's noticed in the conversation.] Was the one you knew quite mad?
grandstanding: (I read your thesis and it sucked)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-04 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He raises an eyebrow.] No. I found him quite sensible, considering the other people inhabiting that place.
complicatedliar: (all according to plan)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-04 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[He wonders if it was the child version of himself. Pewling brat. But it could be much worse, since people seem to like that one for some reason.]

My thanks for that, then. 'tis something of a relief to hear.

[Hmm.]

So you already know what I am, yes?
grandstanding: (I read your thesis and it sucked)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-06 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't. [A straightforward response.] We were more acquaintances than anything else. [Allies in the formal sense, but that requires far more explanation.]

In any case, being in that place entailed losing your memories. I didn't know what I was for some time.
complicatedliar: (all according to plan)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-06 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. [Well then.] I am of the Aesir, from the realm of Asgard.

[He wonders if it was the same place as Leto.] What was the name of this place?
grandstanding: (You won't stand in my way)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-07 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
[The term doesn't mean much to Erik, except in one area: not human. So he nods.] Mutant. Earth. [At least he doesn't need to specify what year.]

It didn't really have one. Everyone called it the library, because it was full of books.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-10 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
My lady is a mutant. I am passingly familiar with the meaning of it.

[Or at least Rogue's opinions on the identity.]

Ah, books. [Sigh.] It would be nice to be exiled somewhere with a decent number of books for once.
grandstanding: (I can't stand this indecision)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-11 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm always glad not to have to explain it. [And, inevitably, get into fights about the meaning.]

The number was decent, but the books themselves were a disappointment, I'm afraid. Unreadable.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-13 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that does get very annoying, I imagine. [He gets tired of explaining things as well, and about mortals bringing up some of the nastier stories about him. Feh.]

That is a shame indeed. Language barrier or something else?
grandstanding: (I can't stand this indecision)

[personal profile] grandstanding 2016-04-14 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
Language, water damage, and incredibly suspect cover materials. [Human skin, he's fairly certain. At least it wasn't all of them.] We tended to have other concerns on our minds, besides.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2016-04-15 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Suspect? [Raised eyebrow. Like he'd care about human leather covers.] Mmm. Fair enough, however.
