[Arthur turns on the video, and it appears he's hanging out in his bunk on the Red fish. He holds up a small moleskine notebook, turning the page to the camera and letting it adjust. On the page is a very neat, realistic sketch of a woman's face, delicate with big eyes and long dark hair. He flips it to the next page, where he sketched a man's face, with bigger lips and scruff around his mouth. He takes the notebook away so the camera can focus on his own face.]

Those are just some sketches of people I know. I was thinking maybe I could try and draw things for people. I can even try for some portraits of people from your home, if you'll describe them to me.

[ooc: The drawings are of Ariadne and Eames from Inception. I really like the idea of Arthur sketching people in his notebook, and I imagine his style of art like sin_repent's version. ANYWAY, feel free to have facetwin confusion with the drawings if you'd like.]

What's your world like, if you don't mind me asking?

It's harsh. Poisoned. Green things won't grow, the landscape is scorching wastelands, and there are massive sandstorms that house tornadoes. Then there are the tyrants and bandits ... everything in my world will try to kill you.

I suppose all worlds have their bad things, but I think your world has mine beat. Sounds like a rough life. How do you deal with it?

Adapt. Fight back harder than the other guy. Survive.

[He nods slowly.] I suppose that's all you can do.

[He offers her an apologetic smile for all the questions.] I'm Arthur, by the way. Turnabout is fair play, if you have any questions about my world.

Furiosa.

[She thinks for a moment. Usually, she hadn't been too curious about other worlds until late, and searched for an appropriate question.]

Was there much conflict?

[He nods.] It's kind of separated from every day in the US. That's my home, the United States.

Furiosa. I like it. Your name, I mean.

[kill_switch]

United States ... It, sounds familiar. [She can't really say much beyond that. Maybe she read out it? Or heard of it from Miss Giddy or the Vuvalini in her youth.]

Arthur is ... unusual.

Hm. It's possible our worlds are alternate versions of each other.

Is it? [He smiles.] It's decently common but old-fashioned in my world.

I haven't heard of it. [Nope. She grew up in a world where The Dag and Toast were acceptable names.]

Really. Huh.

[A pause.] You said green things don't grow. How do you find water? I'm guessing it has to be hard to find there.

[kill_switch]

They pull it from deep in the ground, but not everyone has equal access to it.

Interesting. A power struggle then.

[He shakes his head with a smile.] Forgive me for continually quizzing you. I was brought up to be curious.

It's a very different world, here. I think I can see where people might be curious.

[Although it doesn't exactly work in reverse; it's infrequent, the amount of times she'll ask someone about their own world. Usually then, it's more about getting to know the person rather than a curiosity for another plane of existence.]
