video/optional action
Who: Arthur
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Red fish if you want
When: Today
[Arthur turns on the video, and it appears he's hanging out in his bunk on the Red fish. He holds up a small moleskine notebook, turning the page to the camera and letting it adjust. On the page is a very neat, realistic sketch of a woman's face, delicate with big eyes and long dark hair. He flips it to the next page, where he sketched a man's face, with bigger lips and scruff around his mouth. He takes the notebook away so the camera can focus on his own face.]
Those are just some sketches of people I know. I was thinking maybe I could try and draw things for people. I can even try for some portraits of people from your home, if you'll describe them to me.
[ooc: The drawings are of Ariadne and Eames from Inception. I really like the idea of Arthur sketching people in his notebook, and I imagine his style of art like sin_repent's version. ANYWAY, feel free to have facetwin confusion with the drawings if you'd like.]

Video
[A brow arches.] Do you always draw pictures of coworkers like that? [Liiiiar.]
Video
[He bristles.] Yes. I do. We've known each other for a long time.
Video
That long and you wouldn't call him a friend or a partner?
Video
I've called him a friend to others, but I'm not exactly sure what the parameters of our relationship is. And I don't work exclusively with him.
[So... Arthur sucks at people.]
Video
Video
It is not. It's just a product of being a criminal.
[Yep, he's finally just admitting it.]
Video
So you're a criminal with no friends. This just got sadder.
[He's kidding. Kind of.]
Kinda figured though. About the criminal thing. Mind-raping people doesn't exactly scream on the level. [Says a man who just, you know, tortures people for information.] The friend thing I'm kind of surprised about though, I mean, you are a well-dressed man, who doesn't love that?
Video
[But oh, okay. That was kind of nice at the end. He settles cautiously.] I could have sworn you just complimented me just now.
[He smiles tentatively.] I did have friends. That I knew were my friends.
Video
[But he shrugs.] I'm a man with an eye for fashion.
[HAHA. Arthur. Quit making it so easy.] Mhmm. Let me guess, these totally real! friends totally exist but I can't meet them because they're in a different school. But they're sooooo real.
Video
Video
[Is he serious? Is he mocking? IDK, Arthur can try to figure it out.]
Video
Video
Video
[It doesn't sound quite as annoyed as before.]
Do you have any other hobbies other than annoying me?
Video
Aww. Have we reached the getting to know eachother phase? You know, normally that's shared over a drink.
Video
Video
Video; cw: alcohol
[He could have used a drink a looong time ago.]
...If you'll tell me which ship is yours.

Starstruck.
no subject
[He grins.] I am.
[And he turns off the video. He shows up on the Starstruck a few minutes later, walking the halls, looking around curiously. His hair is slicked back, he's wearing a sweater and slacks, and his hands are in his pockets.]

Man, either you are seriously eager for those friends, or you really like your booze. C'mon then. [And he waits for Arthur to catch up before he's walking towards his bedroom. He's not all that eager to share his booze out in the kitchen. He might have to share with even more people.]

[And he gives Arthur a flat look for claiming his bed like that. Rude. But that's fine whatever, he's got a bottle of liquor already sitting out and he snatches it before sitting back against the bed, knees bent.]
So, professional criminal huh? I don't have to cuff you down while you're here to make sure you don't swipe anything, do I?
[And he twists open bottle of...well it kind of smells like tequila but who knows and takes a swig before holding it out to Arthur.]
no subject
He takes the bottle and takes his own swig. It burns more than the good shit he was drinking during the inception job, but he can take it fine. His lips curl up.]
I steal information. Gotta keep me out of here, [he says as he reaches over and taps a finger to FDR's forehead.]

Don't judge his booze choices, half of this shit is foreign even to a man with tastes from all over the world. So it's a crap shoot. Sometimes he gets something strong and smooth, other time he gets something that taste like rubbing alcohol. This is apparently the latter.
He swats the hand away and gives Arthur a one-sided glance before snatching the bottle back. That's probably the most dangerous thing the guy could say to him. He's CIA, information is in the job title. He's got a lot to hide. Hell, he's been through "trainings" that were nothing less than literal torture learning to keep his secrets secret.]
Oh trust me, I'd shoot you before I let you penetrate this safe.
