Who: Solas and you!
Broadcast: Text; universal
Action: On the Pathstone
When: Early morning of the 20th
I am looking for drawing tools. Charcoal, parchment, paints, anything of the like. I have credits I am willing to trade, but I find myself running low on my personal supplies.
[ Having left, his limited supplies of paints had been left to the Pathstone and Cole. Now he needs something to do with his hands and he feels almost... Twitchy with too much time on his hand. ]
Otherwise, I may offer artwork itself in trade. Any visitors to the Pathstone will have seen examples. Thank you.

I can show you some of my drawings if you would like to come to my personnel room, Elize.
voice;
[ Because she knows he's talented and the drawings most likely look amazing. Elize only picked up drawing and coloring as a regular hobby when she arrived on the fleet.
The sound of her rummaging around, gathering her supplies can be heard through the feed. ]
I'll be right there.

[ His room and the hallway around it is decorated, after all, and it has been since his first venture onto the fleet. The entire ship has been sketched and marked with Solas' absent artistry, dictating their travels even as he tries to reign himself in.
He has to fight back his laughter, of course, because she is a delight. ]
I will be waiting.

Her doll is trailing along behind her, levitating in midair from a simple spirit arte that she cast upon it. She's only using the stuffed animal to carry additional materials such as paper in its mouth. ]
Hello, Solas?

[ Solas stands from where he had been almost lounging at his desk, putting the book he'd been reading to one side before he greets her. It's obvious, now, why he might need more artistic tools - the entire room is covered in murals, no space not drawn upon or charcoaled over, and there's very little room for much else.
There's even a small corner that seems to shimmer in the light... From glitter paint. ]
Please, come in.
no subject
Her eyes are drawn to the shining corner and she smiles even more. Despite a small amount of glitter paint covering the corner, she's delighted he managed to put her gift to use. ]
Your room is amazing!

Elize's smile makes him smile in return, and he shakes his head. ]
Thank you. I am only glad so much of it remained during my absence.

[ As well as some pens and pencils mixed in there. There's a minimal amount of colors that aren't a shade of pink, just as she mentioned. Hopefully he doesn't mind that she and her doll set the materials on his desk. Her hands are a bit full.
But she keeps the pinwheel that she brought along in her hand, holding it up to show off to Solas. The wheel part is colored in with various shades of pink. ]
Oh... Cole... he made this for me! It's called a pinwheel. I colored the spinning part with those markers...

[ Solas does move, shifting forward to look at all the things she and her puppet had brought, interested and curious, wanting to learn more and know more. He's quick to move, too, helping her place things on his desk and drawing out the chair for her to sit on, if she wants. Never let it b said that Solas wasn't a gentleman.
The pinwheel does get his attention, however, and he shifts down to look at it, reaching out to press his fingers along the colours. ]
It's very beautiful. [ Solas nods his head, once. ] I think I may be able to guess your favourite colour.

She keeps the pinwheel held out, allowing him to examine it. She smiles proudly at his comment. A "propinkist", right here. ]
If you blow air on it, it spins! It kind of reminds me of the windmills in Sharilton. Those ones are really big and requires spirit artes to move.

[ And, as if to prove his point, Solas waves his hand over the candle upon his desk - blue flame flickers into place until he flicks his fingers and it's snuffed out. ]
It seems like a very clever thing to make. Cole must have worked hard.
[ And he sounds somewhat like a proud parent. ]
no subject
[ She sounds mildly surprised that he understood what she meant so quickly. Often times, she has to switch to the more "common" term among the fleet: magic.
Her eyes watch the candle, easily amused by the simple show of magic. Granted, she's also capable performing amazing feats of magic, but it's nothing instant. Unless you use a spyrix. ]
Spirit artes requires a channeling circle and forming a pact with the spirits.
[ She blows a little bit of air onto the wheel and watches it spin. ]
Cole works hard on his drawings too!
no subject
Ah, a pact with spirits? That sounds remarkably unique. Not many in my world would dare make such a partnership.
[ Fear of demons is a real threat, at least, and he leans forward to watch it spin. ]
He has done well, hasn't he? I'm very impressed.

[ She and Mikleo aren't of the same world, but from what she has learned of seraphim, the elemental spirits of Rieze Maxia and the seraphim work similarly. Symbiosis with spirits is similar to what Mikleo would call armatus. ]
Very well! I have some of Cole's drawings hanging on the walls of my room. He drew a nug, the Iron Bull, Rhys, Shale... oh, and I've seen him paint the walls of his room before.
[ But that was when they were both feeling upset. She couldn't very much make out what it was that he painted. ]
no subject
[ To Solas, it's entirely different. He lived in a world where the Fade and the physical plain were connected and joined by more than just mage links - the idea of being entirely separated from spirits didn't sit well with him and he was beyond uncomfortable.
Still, he manages a soft, fond smile. ]
He has drawn you many things, then. Perhaps I ought to catch up with him.
[ Because he can paint gifts now, for her, in return for her kindness. ]
no subject
[ Some of it has been not-so-happy things, like the Blight and the treatment of mages. The latter she had to get Cullen to further explain to her, much to his discomfort. But she insisted for both of them to tell her.
She frowns a bit. A lot of what's accepted in Rieze Maxia sounds to be the opposite in Thedas. ]
I don't think people in Thedas would like a Rieze Maxian very much...
no subject
[ No, some things in Thedas would never be nice, but Solas does not think that he is going to dwell on that. He isn't there right now, and when he has his way, back home, things will change swiftly.
For now, he nods his head for a moment, considering. ]
No, perhaps not. But the world can change.
no subject
The world can change. And I'm going to visit someday!
[ Her tone is confident, as though crossing worlds is something simple to do. ]
no subject
[ She's certainly determined enough, and he can see a streak in her that reminds him of Jove, of Cole, of people from Thedas. It makes him soften, ever so slightly.
The Fleet is changing him, little by little. He's not as set as he once was, and he fears that. ]
And I am sure that Thedas would welcome such a charming young woman.
no subject
Being called a "young woman" gets her to smile, makes her feel like she's on the right track growing up. ]
I know how to write some words in common and Elvish now. Jove has been teaching me.
no subject
He is losing too much there already; he need not learn more. ]
Ah, I see. Perhaps that is something you and I can work on together as well, to surprise her?
no subject
I would like that! I want to get much better at reading and writing!
[ She sounds excited to further advance her learning and to make Jove proud of her. ]
