like apart from being sol in space. the basic premise here is that this is reality tv right? which is never actually reality. so they specifically picked us based on entertainment value is my guess. can you imagine anyone normal and fine and competent being interesting to watch? nah, not as much as someone who's constantly a mess. isn't it weird to think about how everyone here was picked probably because they're dysfunctional enough for viewers to keep watching? adding insult to injury if you ask me.

anyways i'm kind of curious about what makes you strange enough to be here. fill me in if you've got a guess.

the like four of them i've met are fine but my default is assuming everyone's ridiculous in some way

goes hand in hand with the whole point of the original message i sent out

well, if you're thinking that people are hiding something every time you talk to them, it probably takes a lot of energy to try to figure out what it is

nah. assuming that everyone is hiding something means i stopped caring about it and trying to figure it out, much less effort & disappointment in the long run

and here comes the part where we inevitably disagree b/c i'm on the other end of the scale from optimism

shockingly, you're not the first one i've met. so, i take it you're not thrilled with this experience?

actually i love being kidnapped and having my brain messed with and being creepily watched all the time, clearly the best thing that's ever happened to me

hey, i don't love it either. but i get the feeling it's an improvement for some people over what they've been through.

comparatively acceptable and objectively acceptable are two very different things

i mean this place is a pretty huge improvement over the last shithole i was stuck in but that doesn't mean i'm about to starting singing atroma's praises
