[Okay... Clay was kind of hoping for a better planet than this, but okay... At least it's somehow inhabitable; he still remembers astronomers' fruitless quest to find life on other planets and moons, so just that is amazing. But since he doesn't like the gas mask and going outside is horrible, Clay spends most of his time in the ship itself to record his studies. Though he does make sure to check in on his crew, and doubly makes sure that they've got a gas mask on when they go outside. No one's getting sick on his watch.]
B.
[Well, since Clay's mostly inside, he'll just go ahead and finish the project he's been working on for a good while now.
In the rec room are a set of pull-up bars: a smaller size for the kids, mid-height for folks like himself, and a taller one in case they get a crewmate who is... well, tall. Did you know we had an eight foot shipmate once? It was pretty rad. But anyway. Clay does the finishing touches on the tall one, then stands up and steps back to admire his work.]
It's done! [He spreads his arms like he's showing off something grand.] It's finally done!
C.
[And then there are the times that he does go outside, to study and take notes, to use his flight suit, to run some errands, to visit his boyfriend and/or friends, or other things! Anyone else who's still in the ship when he does so gets to see Clay stop by, gas mask in both hands, to ask:]
Hey, I'm going out. You need anything while I'm gone?
D.
[Need your captain for something else? Go ahead and bug him!]
A
[So when he's on the ship, he heads right for Clay's office and starts talking - totally oblivious that the gas mask distorts his voice and amplifies his breathing sounds so what was meant to be sweet sounding, instead just sounds ominous.]
I brought you something.
A
But when Allen comes in looking like that? And sounding like that? The guy's completely covered form head to toe, so Clay doesn't recognize him underneath it all. He first eyes the weapons at his sides, then slowly sets the pencil down and pushes his chair back a bit, ready to bolt if he needs to.]
Yes?

Is something wrong?
no subject
... Nothing. But, uh - Who are you again?
1/2
What? How do you not-
no subject
Ah- sorry.
[He lifts his hand and pulls back his hood, revealing his white hair, as he starts to undo the straps that were holding on the mask]
Forgot I had this on.

You scared me for a second there! You looked like some kind of movie villain!
no subject
Really? Sorry, that wasn't the intent- [With the gasmask now off, he'll run his hand through his hair to try to fix his hair from hood hair]
I just came by to tell you I brought you some samples from the planet's wilderness? For your research.

This is how you make friends, though, isn't it?
When she finds him, her own mask is hanging around her waist (a lioness, because she has her own sense of humour that she would never talk about). Stepping up, she offers him a small smile before she breathes out. ]
Hi, Clay. Could - Would it be alright if I asked for a favour?

His own mask, which is on the desk, has been... well, bedazzled is a good word for it. There are sparkly stars all over it, and even the goggles are star shaped, because he's predictable like that. When Hermione comes in, Clay returns her smile with a cheery grin of his own, then stands to pay her better attention.]
Sure! You can ask me any time. What is it?

It helped, too, that the people she shared a ship with were kind and helpful. She had already started to get close to Alphonse and she had learned that she would be able to rely on them if there was anything she needed - like now. Quickly, she reaches around and pulls some parchment out and steps forward, offering it out. ]
I was wondering if you could keep an eye out for a herb if you go to the station. I was hoping to use it in a potion and two eyes are better than one...
B!
Wow! You made it yourself?
no subject
Yup! They're actually pretty easy to make; it only took me so long because I didn't have the right stuff to work with.
[Not the proper tools, nor the right measurements, and if he hadn't crazily stocked up at the Western moon, he wouldn't have had the metal either.]

He worked out a lot, and sparred, keeping his strength up.
However, he soon got restless, and sometimes he could be found trying to persuade Cosmic the fox to wear a gas mask so they could go out for runs. He didn't succeed.]
Rogue
She still goes down there to try to help out, pick up some water filtration systems and generally... okay, she really doesn't like it down there at all.
She'll be spending way more time than normal in the rec room or in the kitchen, trying to come up with alternatives based on where they are - especially since one of their non-eating crewmembers has now turned into an eating one.]
